best website for london hotel

hi all I want to book a hotel in london for 4 nights in October. I know the dates (26th for 4 nights or maybe just 3 if too expensive) but absolutely nothing about hotels can't remember the last time we stayed in one. I'm looking through various threads but which websites do you recommend looking at to get best prices and for reviews etc. Just looked on trip adviser and they were starting at $500 a night so I think I'll have to look elsewhere. It's for a family room for 4 but I don't fancy a travelodge. I'd love to treat us to somewhere with a lovely breakfast and nice room but get a good deal - wouldn't we all! thanks for any advice x

  • Premier Inns are nicer than travelodges generally. They are always my first choice.

That's half term week so will probably more expensive generally. You could try Lateroom.com for some ideas

You could try Holiday inn 2for1 website, but there may be very limited availability left now for family rooms in the half term.

Lastminute are doing a 2for 1 hotel room sale at 10am this morning for rooms in Sep[t/Oct and this includes London hotels it says, so may be worth a look. You will need to be quick as will probably sell out in minutes of going live. You are probably best to have your details save on an auto form filler such as google as in the time you take to fill out your details they may be gone.

Sorry just realised it is only on twin/double rooms, so no good to you.

has anyone stayed at the london kensington premier inn olympia recently please?
  • www.bookings.com is good as you can reserve the room with your credit card you don't have to pay upfront & you can cancel with no charge, sometimes even on the day before a certain time obviously you hope you wouldn't need to but if it is handy if the unexpected happened.
  • oops it's www.booking.com
  • Personally I've not stayed at the Premier Inn Olympia but have stayed at and highly recommend the Premier Inn at County Hall by the London Eye. As it's in an old Government building I find the rooms spacious and the dining room is not only large downstairs but you can go up and help yourself to whatever you want i.e. cooked breaskfast, toast, fruit, yoghurts, cereals etc. As it's a large Hotel the food is always on the go and fresh.

I guess it depends on how old your children are. if they are young (though we took the boys when they were early teens) it'll be very acceptable IMHO.

thanks for the reply I'm glad you didn't say it's horrible as I've booked it in the meantime! it was £147 for 3 nights so I hope it's not a matter of "you get what you pay for2 although the reviews on trip adviser were very good.
  • Hi melb

What was the Premier Inn Kensington Olympia like when you stayed last year? I'm thinking of booking a few nights there myself.

    Thanks
