Hi Pinky I know where you are coming from having recovered from pnd myself you tend to worry more than normal (particularly if your pnd made the bond between you and dd stronger). Its completely normal to feel like you want to step in but I echo what the other posters have said and just try and reassure your daughter and help her to be confident so that these little falling outs don't upset her as much. If you are really worried just casually mention it to her teacher and ask him/her to keep an eye on it but no action to be taken that way you won't be sat at home worrying whether it is going un-noticed.

Hi Pinky - yes, girls are just horrible!

DD1 is almost 9, but we've suffered from the petty b!tch!ness and fallings out for about the last year!
DD1 has her close group of classmates (4 of them in total), and a few others who fall in and out of favour!
Also, she can have one round for tea and they're lovely, but throw another girl into the mix and they're all vile!

As others have said, you just have to reassure you daughter that these things happen and she shouldn't get upset.

I think you are all right in that I need to look at ways of coping as I am in danger of heightening her anxieties in the way I worry and act. I had to pretend I bumped my toes last night as I cried being upset. I def need to think about things and try and find some way of keeping my mind off it. This is my first child at this age so I spose it is still a learning curve too. I have friends with kids but they all a lot younger so wasnt sure if this was normal. But seems to be xx
