    As you say hard to prove and not getting a receipt the first time wouldn't have helped.

    You obviously believe it was not a mistake but genuine fraud/theft so if it was me I would write to head office and explain that you can not prove anything but that you feel they should be aware of what might be going on.

    I got short changed last weekend, id bought 3 drinks and gave a £20 and got change as if id given a £10. I knew it was a £20 that i gave her as i remember the £20 notes are blue in colour as opposed to the orange of the £10 so i said hang on i gave you a £20 and she said oh did you and gave me the £10 back that was mine.

    As a young saturday boy in Waitrose everyone took their turn on the tills, an important part of the training was to place the customers note in the clip on top of the till until the change had been counted out to the customer.

    A simple idea which greatly reduced the chance of accidentally giving the wrong change.
