Mandles wrote:Thanks, im still quite confused. I downloaded the belarc thing and is this what i am looking for? Super VGA [Display adapter]
You're looking for the entry under the Display heading, like:
Display Intel(r) 82810 Graphics Controller [Display adapter]
Super VGA is just the type of video card. You need to know the manufacturer and model no. as well.
If these details aren't displayed, then the information isn't much good to you. The information will be written on the video card inside your PC if you know someone who is capable of removing it in order to read it. Or the other possibility is that it is integrated with your Motherboard and in this case you would need to know the manufacturer and model of your Motherboard (which should be in the Belarc report). If you tell us which Motherboard it is, then we will be able to tell you if the video adapter is integrated or not.0 -
That you Wombat and evryone else. I am so stuck and wouldnt know what i was looking for inside computer(im ok at taking off cover & giving it a hoover though!)This is all that is listed under display;
Super VGA [Display adapter]
Packard Bell NEC CI A727 [Monitor] (15.7"vis, s/n 000795303034, May 20030 -
and my motherboard??
Board: Intel Corporation D815EFV AAA45152-204
Serial Number: BLFV10909345
Bus Clock: 133 megahertz
BIOS: Intel Corp. EA81520A.86A.0006.P03.0102131647 02/13/20010 -
OK. Your Motherboard manual is downloadable here:
http://support.intel.com/support/motherboards/desktop/d815efv/sb/cs-013078.htm
It does have an integrated video adapter, so we need to find the download for them. One moment....0 -
Drivers are described here:
Intel® Chipset Software Installation Utility (INF)
The Intel Chipset Software Installation Utility (INF) is a driver that enables many features of the Intel chipset that are built into your Intel® desktop board. This utility must be installed FIRST in order for the operating system to accurately use the features built into the chipset. If this utility is not installed, the operating system will not know what chipset features exist. Peripherals added may, in most cases, not run to full potential. This is especially true with graphics performance.

and look as though they can be downloaded here:
http://downloadfinder.intel.com/scripts-df-external/Product_Filter.aspx?ProductID=816
Let us know if they aren't and we can look further abroad.
HTH
Edit: When you click on the second link, click on the drop-down selections and click on Windows ME for your Operating System. This will take you to a page with 4 downloads on. I would download no. 1 (click on the "English" button next to "Download File(s)") and instal those drivers. If that doesn't work, try one of the older sets of drivers.
If you download the Zipped files, you will need to unzip them (using WinZip or WinRar) before running them. The .exe files just need to be double clicked to run.
There are also Read Me files which you can click on which contain detailed instructions on how to instal the drivers and how to overcome any problems you may have with the installation.
Basically, just follow any instructions on the screen when you run the programs. Hope this solves it for you.0 -

Yes, you're absolutely right. Sorry about that. It used to be free but they now appear to feel their expertise needs paying for. The same stuff is available elsewhere for free, so I can't see the point in paying for it. Just type your problem into Google.
