Please advise on windows mobile phone
I just damaged my old O2 Xda Orbit which had served me well over the last couple of years. I am mid-contract with O2 after upgrading on a 18 month contract - 9 months ago (Didn’t take a phone then).
I run a few programmes on the windows mobile platform which I want to keep. I am looking at the O2 XDA Guide and the HTC compact V both brand new on Ebay. I’ll appreciate your opinion on these phones. Which is better? Or are there any other phones (with Windows Mobile) I should consider?
Thanks.

Same here. I'm buying a replacement screen off ebay so I can trade it in at CEX for some profit.
There are loads of Windows Mobile phones out there so you'll have to narrow your criteria a bit to get useful suggestions I think.
I was looking for a big HD screen and built-in DIVX support which sadly doesn't seem to exist as a combination, closest being the HTC Touch HD or Diamond 2. In the end I gave up and am going for a Samsung i8910 which will probably mean giving up hope of MS office compatibility as it's symbian.
I'd suggest looking round the XDA Developers website as they cover the latest HTC phones in incredible detail on their forums. Most of those are Win Mobiles though lately they're going Android. http://forum.xda-developers.com/Reading this signature is a waste of time0 -
We have used windows mobiles for some time and a lot is down to the preference of the user. Some like touch/pen screens, others traditional handsets with keys.
The most informative site I have found over the years, with different forum for each brand of mobile, is https://www.modaco.com.
Wee worth a visit.0 -
Toshiba TG01. It is probably the only win mo device that can make using the os somewhat decent with it's 1ghz snapdragon CPU. It will also be getting a free upgrade to 6.5. Very slim, but tall and wide, and no physical keyboard are the negatives.
Also read up on kinoma play interface for it, it's intriguing.Try to imagine nothing ever existed...0 -

Do you have one yourself?0 -
No I don't, my best mate has one.
The phone also has a stunning screen, and while it may be a resistive one, its probably one the best resistive screens around.
If you need something a bit more compact and a physical keyboard, this probably isn't the phone for you.Try to imagine nothing ever existed...0
