It would be a right chore for me if they were all at 8:30. I'd have to battle thru the traffic to go home, then battle back thru the traffic to get to the cinema. 6:30 suits me down to the ground :)
Yeah 6.30 suits me great as well good if its a film i can take my 12 year old too and also by about 9 im too knackered to be sitting in a cinema

I ususally forget to eat, so am just worrying about my stomach for the latter part of the film! LOL:cool:
  • A 6.30 start, at the cinema is the best time for me, finish work at 4.oo then make my way to Macdonald's, then the movie. I get home at a reasonable time. :)
  • Screening was about 90% full - only last few rows at the very front had any empty seats.
Not overly long film, and for me was a surprisingly pleasant evening.
I'm too old to drool over a beautiful male face any more, the Zach Efron phenomena has by-passed me, but...

He wasn't half bad in this.
Ok he gets his kit off several times, and the camera loves his sculptured features, but ( as I overhead others comment) this was a much better version of Lovely Bones.... which I found tedious, boring and generally too arty farty for my taste.

There was many missed opportunities in the film..... but that was more to do with the script, and perhaps the book ( not read it myself) than the acting. The film must have had Mr Efron in the frame for about 90% of the time.
No development of his brothers or Ray Liottas characters, his mother disappeared after the first quarter of the film, 5 years on his own playing catch ???
Lots of characters and relationships which if the script writers had made more of an effort would have made for a much more interesting film.
all in all though not a bad film, for what it is.
A simple all-American Love story, and a stepping-stone in Mr Efrons acting career.
Nothing brilliant, but equally not a complete turkey.

As DS commented, "Well I didn't walk out so it was ok ";)

Well, I've had a disastrous day and ended up missing every bus and train I could have taken to Cheshire Oaks so sadly missed Charlie and now I find I missed Ray Liotta too. Fabulous :(

Thanks for the review OB. :T

Unfortunately Ray was only in the film for 2 all-too-brief scenes, so you didn't miss much.
As I said, imo, lots of time and talent wasted...... but I am sure there is enough of the lovely Mr Efron to satisfy his young fans.

    Was some lovely cinematography though.;)
  • I cannot remember who recommended the film The Counterfeiters - with subtitles.
    Can I just thank you!

I recorded it ( based on your recommendation) and last night finally got around to watching it - whilst working my way through a mammoth pile of ironing.
Loved it - the film that is, not the ironing.:p
Soon forgot all about the subtitles, and was just swept along with the storyline.
I don't usually bother with 'foreign' films as I normally do not have the TV to myself to be able to follow and appreciate without interruption.
    Thanks again:T

GLAD TO BE OF SERVICE :)

    My pleasure.

I've now watched it 3 times.

Once as a free preview in the cinema and twice on the TV.

It is good isn't it :)

I'm sure I will get to see it one way or another, probably a Cineworld code.:)

Being the dopey bint that I am, I missed the start of this wonderful film so I will definitely watch it again when next on tele.
  • Buried

I saw the movie on Monday and found it gripping, tense and frustrating from the start.

If you suffer from claustropobia, not a good idea to see the movie.

    Ryan Reynolds, brilliant! :T
