Care to justify that? I find the add-ons far from pointless. For example, with a multi-page thread, I have an add-on which automatically loads the following pages and displays them below, so that I can scroll down continuously. Same for google searches and the like.
Yeah. Out of the 1,555,605,380 add ons downloaded, only 179,096,972 of them are in use. If their not being used what point do they serve?
Asides from being pointless they eat up ram and end up not working properly/incompatible with new versions of Firefox, not that Firefox has memory leak problems anyway.0 -

Isn't it annoying having lots of unnecessary pages open up if you only want one?
I'm sure the extensions are useful to many people, but not everyone.
The only add-on I really used in Firefox was AdBlock, and I can use that in Safari now. Any additional add-ons would just be used to duplicate features already present in Safari (such as its PDF handling abilities). Then I'd end up with a slower browser that ate up more resources than the one that comes with my OS.
I agree with Jaffa that, plug-in architecture aside, Firefox is pretty lacklustre.0 -
