This is handist, discriminating against right handers............
Where's the specifically made right-handed pencils......What if the Hokey Pokey really is what it's all about !!!0 -
They are on sale because left handed people die earlier than right handed and less and less lefties are being born each year therefore WHSmith is just acting on evolutionary evidence...;-)0

Does anyone know where I can get some decent left handed scissors, my daughter has so much trouble at school trying to cut things out - she is 10 so doesn't necessarily need childrens scissors.
Mothercare and Early Learning Centre do them.0 -

Interesting...I'm a leftie, as is my father but never had any "special" left-handed equipment growing up...stupid thing is, my handwriting is excellent whereas my sister's (who's right handed) is absolutely shockingly bad.
I think it all comes down to practice...from the minute I could hold a pencil I was drawing, and I think this has had a positive knock-on effect on my handwriting. Left handed pens/pencils are a bonus, but for the majority of people totally unnecessary.0 -

Wolfsong - My 6 year old son is left handed and though he loves drawing he really struggles with his handwriting - part of it as you say I am sure is down to practice and the fact that writing isn't really something he enjoy's as much as drawing so I guess extra effort and concentration required for him isn't easy to motivate! (he's also a lazy little whatnot!)
I am hoping that these pencil's make writing a little easier - anything that helps/motivates him is a bonus - finger's crossed!0 -
When i was 1st starting to write i used to write the 1st half of a sentence with my left hand and then switch hands and write the rest with my right hand. Eventually i developed into a lefty but theres still a lot of things i have to do with my right hand as theres isnt always the equipment i need. Why buy when you can win!
