    Erm......
but pencils are symetrical, how could they favour either left or right handed use?

many thanks for posting, we have 3 left handed children (both parents right handed)... i think being left handed does make it harder learning to write, so hopefully these will help.

to those who doubt the point of these products, writing left to right is natural for a right handed person... but when you write left handed, the pencil or pen is on top of what you are writing, so you cannot see what you are doing properly... additionally, you have to tilt the paper to avoid writing on a hill, or curve your wrist round in an odd way, so specially shaped left handed pens and pencils are a very useful thing

Patently in this case they are not. Many pens have a shaped 'grip' near the point and in order for this to fit the fingers holding the pen, it has to be angled. Those angled bits are different for lefties and righties.

i have seen left handed pens before, but pencils?
  • Ooh I bought myself the rollerball version of this in tesco the other day. Might treat myself to some pencils (and give half to my dad as he's a lefty too, and there's only so many refillable pencils a girl needs!). Not sure where it says they're just for kids, as the pen I've bought fits me fine and I don't have overly small hands.

In case anyone's interested in having a look before they buy, tesco has these in for £3.50 each at the moment (was £7!). Left and right handed rollerballs and pencils. I bought the pencil for my son, not because he's a lefty, but because he has some trouble with pen control (he's 6) and because I'm fed up with him dropping pencils at home and breaking the lead, so whenever you try to sharpen them they just break. Am hoping this pencil fares better, the lead is much thicker and well encased, two weeks later so far so good!
hey there's no money but we couldn't be happier if we tried
    £2 coin pot - £92!

My 6 year old son who is left handed struggles with making his handwriting neat and is only allowed to write in pencil at school at the moment so these are ideal for him.

Have ordered some for him to try - thanks for posting OP

    BTW - Don't forget Quidco - think it's 8% for stationery :)

Bought a right handed pencil for my son in tesco for £3.50. They also had left handed ones in there as well.

The difference us righties don't realise is that lefties have to push the pen or pencil across the page, whereas we get to pull it, which is a lot easier.
