When typing 2-4 letters of my username into my Halifax online bank account it very often drops the rest of the username into the password box. Is this normal, is it my computer or a halifax thing. It happens about 60% of the time.
if i had known then what i know now

I suspect (I don't use Halifax, so it's an educated guess...) it's still loading the page, and then when complete (after you'd started typing) the "focus" (where the cursor is put for initial entry) is moved to the other box, and this is why the rest of your username is entered in the wrong box.
Load the page and wait until it's complete (watch the status bar on the browser, bottom left).0 -
No I think he means that he types a few letters of his username and the computer drops in the rest automatically. What you have is your browser saving what you have typed in before so saving you time it gives you full username you have typed before. perfectly normal, if you want it too then you need private browseing on or clear your cookies out after each use.Survey earnings total 2009 £417, 2010 £875, 2011 £5740

That's not how I read it... its not how it reads agreed but felt its not really what they meant, but the password box would be ******* when he types so would see that from the first letter. before it seemed to drop down. The Halifax login asks for username password and place of birth for which the password and place are *** hidden when typed.
If when he types he sees Well dots not the letters he types then your rightSurvey earnings total 2009 £417, 2010 £875, 2011 £5740 -
Is there a tick in the box labelled Remember my username?0

yep thats under the place of birth box
But what that does is automatically add the username without any typeing when you got to the sign in pageSurvey earnings total 2009 £417, 2010 £875, 2011 £5740 -
I know what it does; if the page is slow to load, then you will see precisely this kind of behaviour when you attempt to log in!0

I have a fast Boardband so its almost instant, But I think I know what you mean, just the difference with actual visible text and hidden text for the password you know the difference when you start typing.Survey earnings total 2009 £417, 2010 £875, 2011 £5740
