I should have said that I was well mannered and polite untill told I was wrong, why do we feel we have to flatter customer services to get a refund when we in the right, really annoying to have to waste our time when it's their job to check prices etc..I dont go shopping in a sainsbury's uniform and dont expect to do their job!Making small changes, hoping they will last....0

oh forgot - this may make you feel better - next time tell them you dont want item! especially if its out of freezer or chiller. they cannot put it back. against elf and safety...........they dont know how long its been out so may not be safe to refreeze/rechill!!!!
an email to their head office might be in order here too - if they putting out posters before offer starts! or after offer ended!
you sure about that as when i was at sainsburys i was always putting chilled stuff back onto the shelves and frozen food back into the freezer(obviuosly if the item felt warm or soft then yes it would get binned)
re the last bits its most likely due to price control not removing the advertising so easy mistake0
