sainsburys vent

 Yesterday went to pick up few things in sainsburys when I saw some birdseye chunky burgers BOGOF(big sticker on front of freezer) and as i went to put them in noticed they had been reduced too bargain!(£1.49) However after going through checkout i noticed that i had been charged for 2 packs, so i went to customer sevices to ask for refund, the little boy behind the counter then checked the computer and told me there no such offer, so i said i must of imagined the big sticker on front to freezer, so he radioed another staff member to check, who said not that product, but aonther one, so i said i go bloody check myself. ones at the frezzers i beckoned the staff member over pointed to the obvious foot square sticker on front of freezer, he said didnt see it! so went back to customer service and eventually got the refund. Now i I know only £1.49 but hate it when they in the wrong and u made to feel like criminal to ask for your money back after being over charged. vent over with, just wanted to share...
Making small changes, hoping they will last....

oooh - i would have wanted to vent to!!! I hate it when stores do that. next time tell them you are sure trading standards would love to see the pic you just took with your phone camera!!! its misleading. stores dont have to sell to you - but they are legally obliged to have clear pricing (no - i dont understand either). see what the manager says! the fine for misleading pricing is high!!!!!!!!!!!!!

oh forgot - this may make you feel better - next time tell them you dont want item! especially if its out of freezer or chiller. they cannot put it back. against elf and safety...........they dont know how long its been out so may not be safe to refreeze/rechill!!!!
an email to their head office might be in order here too - if they putting out posters before offer starts! or after offer ended!

i can almost guarantee that my shopping at Morrisons is incorrect 79% of the time.. I got fed up of having to go back into the store to sort things out. so i sit down on one of the chairs to check it before i leave.

Even getting it sorted before leaving the store is a pain. Having to go to customer services, then someone has to check it. Sometimes its my fault that i havent looked at the signs properly, but if they will put them under goods that are similar to the offer it really makes me annoyed.

Last week there was a sign saying Teacakes - buy one get one free - great.
got two, charged for two. went back, doesnt apply to them , they are Morrisons the Best, so why put the sign there grrrr, okay - refund. Went back to the teacake shelves, took the sign off the shelf, gave it to a moron assistant and explained to him that it shouldnt be there and why. He took it from me. I went round the corner and back again, guess what - the toad had put it back again. I sort of lost my cool, took the sign away to customer services while he watched, i was quite explicit in telling him what i thought of him.

This happened to me in Tesco and it was actually for a different product but the way the tag was written and placed it look liked it was for that product. They gave it me anyway as it wasn't for the product but the tag had been placed in the wrong place. I was polite and when they pointed out my error I apologised and was happy to pay for twice. So maybe being nice and polite to staff gets you better results than stomping off.

The ones you have to feel sorry for are the people taht take the items just before someone goes to check that you are right. 10 minutes later they're at customer services demanding a refund, someone is sent to check. Of course, by now they've removed the misleading signage so no refund and made to look like an idiot.

  • This sort of happened to me in Sainsbury this week. There was some Jack Daniels barbecue sauce reduced from £2.20 to 57p. I thought ahh what a bargain so i bought 2 bottles. Got to the checkout and luckily noticed it had gone through at the original price. I then queried this with the checkout girl who called the supervisor. He went to look and came back to say that it was £2.20. I said why is it priced at 57p then? He said that the product i picked up wasn't the one on offer and it was another one in a very similar bottle. Unfortunatlely the shelf ticket was still up advertising the cheaper one. I did try and tell him that this is misleading but he wasn't having any of it. I think all the main supermarkets are guilty of doing this, and it p!sses me off!!!

Same thing happens a lot in Morrisons. I wonder sometimes if they do it on purpose - knowing that lots of people dont bother checking their till receipts.
Another thing that has really annoyed me. Morrisons have cottoned on to the fact that most people buy their cooked meat by asking for so many slices now - so now the assitants are told to cut it thicker:eek: so more weight is sold. I play them at their own game now and tell them i want some cut thin so they have to get a new piece out and cut it fresh for me.

This i think is due to the grocery team not checking the right item with the right ticket

  • Sainsbury's are really bad at this sort of thing. A few years ago they used to refund the whole amount if they got the pricing wrong - they stopped that because they were making so many c*ck-ups I guess. Now you have to queue for ages just to get back what they shouldn't have charged in the first place.
