Omg, Omg, Omg!!!!!

What have i done? ? ? ?

I bidded on a pphone which ends tomorow for 99p, then I tried to enter the maximum bid and it said mininum I should enter is £1.04, so, I just tried it to see and accidently typed in £104, then it said maximum bid can only be £99, I didnt think much of it then, now I go on to my eBay and see that my bid is 99p and my maximum bid is £99.

I asked the seller to remove this buy he/she may take advantage of this, can eBay or even I do something about this? This phone isnt worth more than £10 anyways, only buying to sell on.

Thanks, HELP IS NEEDED!!!!

Yes, you can definitely retract your bid under the circumstances you are quoting. Sorry I can't remember how you do it, you will need to look into it.

Does it end in less than 12 hours? If not, you can use this form to retract your bid.

RELAX - we've all done it!

I remember hubby once waking me up in the middle of the night to tell me he had accidentally bid £500 for a cuddly toy!

Bids can be retracted for an incorrect amount within an hour of placing them or with more than 12 hours to go of the end of the auction. You are supposed to then re-bid with the correct amount. Get the item number written down then follow this link or click help and type retract bid

Oh thanks, found it and retracted. In a way its a bad idea coz someone can bid on an item and then retract it in the last minute and bid at a reasonable price again, Doing this just the once or even a few times is surely impossible for eBay to see.

You can't actually retract a bid if there is less than 12 hours to go. This would be at the sellers discretion.

I think it's a good feature because mistakes can happen, just like you proved :)

How can that be? Your maximum bid can be as high as you like - there is no upper limit to what you can bid.

I just realised what I did.

Basically, instead of the 99p which i said I bidded at first I actually bidded £99, then straight after I tried to do a maximum bid and said enter more than £1.04, obviously it didnt update or I think I pressed back....anyways....I entered £1.04 and it said enter more than £99, I was totally baffled, sorry for that mistranslation.

Perhaps that's why they don't like 16 year olds using eBay :rotfl:

    JK btw :D

You can if its within an hour of placing the bid. In this case only the retracted bid will be removed and earlier bids will remain. If there are more that 12 hours all your bids are retracted.
