Hi. I did draw the money from the bank at a similar time to the purchase but guess what!, Locked Horns at the moment with Tsb over Charges and my Account is Dormant/Froze while they try to sort everything out. Tried to log onto internet banking and trace back to the statement showing the funds but even my internet online details are not available. Because they have kept adding charges and i have refused to pay them the account has been frozen, But thats another story!.

Yes my name was on the Logbook and my Partners name before that so i really cant see what the problem is now i have all those details/Paperwork to prove ownership. I think the Lady at Cunningham Lindsey hates me as i keep telephoning to find out whats going on. But is it not my right to be kept informed?.I dont think they have a leg to stand on to refuse me a payout!. Maybe just stalling for as much time as possible, Meanwhile i'm stuck between a Rock and a Hard place with no vehicle and no money to buy one.

    Life is never simple.

Given that you have insured the vehcile for a while, accounted for the key, shown the the V5 I think it is very unusual that this is taking so long. Cunningham Lindsay seem to be struggling a bit as they have just laid off a fair few people. I would suggest you write a formal complaint letter to CIS detailing the length of time it is taking and ceratinly the times you have been hung up on.

Stick to the facts and remain polite though all of this - remember you are writing to individuals who have to put up with people shouting at them for mistakes made by other people all day, so if you are nice to them it always helps.

By the way, under "Treating Customers Fairly" the FSA does indeed look for insurers to keep customers informed about the progress of the claim. The insurer is also responsible for the actions of their appointed representatives - in this case the loss adjuster.

How was the vehicle stolen and has it turned up anywhere?

Hi. The vehicle has not turned up as of yet. It was taken from the back of my property on a Saturday afternoon. No idea how it was stolen as nobody saw anything buy the rear of my property is pretty secluded. No glass or anything on the floor at time of theft. Maybe it was towed away or somebody somehow broke the locks. I have not got a clue!. Couldn't believe it really.
  • Dotbogs post is interesting. I'm also having probs with Cunningham Lindsay, I was burgled about a month ago. Loss adjuster visited 3 weeks ago, gave her all of the receipts etc, heard nothing. Have now started ringing them every day, they say that they are having problems scanning the docs onto the system. Maybe cos they have no staff to do it?
  • I feel ur pain I was burgled on 18th june and they took my car keys I had key cover with another insurance company i followed their procedure and had to wait well to cut a long story short theives came back for my car on 12th July 2009, I am still waiting for my insurers to settle my claim they found my car the next day trashed, they have instructed another compamy to write a report on a theft, nearly three months later no closer to getting anywhere i have complain to the financial ombudsman but this doesnt get them moving any quicker. I wish you luck cuz all i can manage is tears.
  • oh and im dealing with cunningham lyndsey in birmingham its been nearly 4 months since my burglary they do not move quickly at all, and im having problems getting things back that I didnt have reciepts for so dont hold your breath.
