Hi need help!
I have bad experiences in the past when moving home and the boss (the wife) want to move.
We live in Birmingham, can someone recommend an Estate Agent?

Use an estate agent who has been recommended to you personally or an estate agent who you have used previously.
Remember, the fee isn't the most important factor in choosing an estate agent. A good estate agent will give you great service, keep you informed throughout the process and negotiate the best deal on your behalf.
Ask what marketing your estate agent will do on your behalf.
(from Right Move)
I would also add to this that you should mystery shop them before you employ them and check out the quality of pictures that they have on other properties that they are currently selling. It may help if you list the type, price and rough location of your house - e.g. on the outskirts of Brum or on the outskirts so people can advise you.Smile though your bank is breaking:)0 -
it would be easier giving you wednesdays lottery numbers0

Can't answer specifically but look at an old post of mine that may help.

We're in Birmingham and we recently used Dixons. After a little deliberation, I decided that I would recommend them.
First the negative points. They are not cheap - they will hit you with a 3% fee, but you can haggle this down slightly. They use a 'sales progressor' who, in our case was in a seperate branch. Their job is to chase up your buyer, his solicitor etc. Our sales progressor rarely answeresd the phone, and we had to leave messages to get a response.
Now the positive. Dixons are extremely good at selling houses. We were getting between 2 and 6 viewings per week, and we accepted after 5 weeks. Our buyer had a 'wobble' mid-way through the whole process and Dixons had booked in 6 viewings in one afternoon. We exchanged a couple of weeks ago and complete in 3 weeks.
We've used Dixons twice now, and would do again.0 -
There all as bad as each other. One taking the lowest % fee.
After having 2 experiences now i would say the fee has nothing to do with quality. Its the people at the time who are working at that branch.
I was really hoping that i would come back and lot people would recommend estate agent "x".
But i think as people have posted, they are all as bad as each other.
However i am interested in Wednesdays lottery numbers :T0 -
The boss is looking for somewhere free to advertise, Im looking for those lottery numbers.
She has found "onestopview.com" and "thepropertyviewer.co.uk".
Anyone heard of these before?
Is it legal?
I am always worried, free means im going to pay for it someway. :eek:0
