I am lusting after some Le Creuset pots and pans but finances won't permit...but I have the old style Le Creuset safety tin opener which is AMAZING!!!
Sometimes Makro have offers on sets and I think at the moment they have 25% off individual pieces.
I think it's really nice that people mix up their colours as that is what I would do:D.Laughing at my ancient signature...voodoobaby now 10 years old:eek:0 -
Anyone watch Nigel Slater's Simple Suppers earlier? He was using the almond Le Creuset pots one of which was the one I'm after. I want it in almond now:D0

I have some blue shallow le creuset gratin dishes and a griddle pan in cream, but my total FAVOURITE casserole is like a le creuset but made by Buckingham - it is cream and HUGE and makes wonderful casseroles. I got it in TKMaxx and it was reduced in the clearance to £18. They had them in pale blue, pale pink and lavender too, but for some reason they were all £40 odd quid for the same casserole. I use mine loads and love the way you can brown the meat on the hob without having to use a separate pan. I think stuff tastes so much nicer cooked in a cast iron casserole than a slow cooker and it thickens up too - before I got rid of my slow cooker I hated the fact that the stuff was always watery.Jane

I have the saucepans, frypans and griddle in almond and they're brilliant.
When you consider they'll last forever they realy are'nt expensive.
Before these I was forever buying pans.
Go on,treat yourself.
You know you want to.

There appears to be quite a few cast iron fans here. I counted up my collection and I have 19 bits and pieces.
Including 3 large casseroles, 3 small, 4 pans, 2 frying pans, 1 large, 1 small, a large buffet casserole, a rectangle shaped dish, 2 gratin dishes amongst others.:D
I even managed to make proper chips by deep frying in one of the larger casseroles and had the sublime egg and chips for tea tonight.;):DDFW Nerd 267. DEBT FREE 11.06.08

I've got one. Bought it last year when Amazon were doing cracking prices on Le Creuset. It's been well used already. With it being so wide it's good for half shoulder of lamb, that kind of thing. Hoping to use mine on our newlyish installed woodburner for cheap cooking in the winter/as soon as the weather gets cold enough. That reminds me I need to get a trivet for woodburner-cooking.
None of my Le Creuset is matching - when you buy it on offer you have to take whatever they've got!!0 -
I have a motley collection of Le Crueset in various colours. Some were inherited and are pretty ancient in orange and green but still going strong. My biggest bargain was an enormous oval caserole in almond which I got for the princely sum of £28 in T K Maxx a couple of years ago. My latest addition is the shallow casserole which is in constant use. I have used mine on the woodburner without mishap so far !!0
