Hi,
I recently applied a credit card with MBNA but got rejected. The reason I have been rejected is because I do not have any information on my credit report from Experian (Bank and credit card details). However, I checked with Experian and they told me my bank and card details are on their system. I am trying to find out why MBNA had my copy of the credit report which consists of no bank and credit card data but the Experian holds my credit report with my bank and card data.
I applied the credit card last few months ago and been rejected, then I check and update my information with Experian. Until I have all information update on my credit report, I applied credit card again last week and get rejected. Therefore, I ring MBNA up and ask for the reason again, and they told me that my report does not have any bank and credit card history/ information.
I am a bit confused because the Experian has my information on the report but the MBNA does not have. I am seeking for help to fix this because I need to apply a credit card to do my balance transfer. Your help and comments are much appreciated.

HI there,
I would recommend appeal this decision. I would include a copy of your up-to-date credit report. Do you currently have any credit searches showing on your report from MBNA? Also check that your address is shown correctly when entering your postcode into the application form.

Many Thanks Innocent Guy,
I have few search from MBNA and the address is the same as the Credit Expert (Experian) holds. How do I make the appeal and what sort of information needed to make the appeal? How long does it takes for MBNA to deal with my appeal and get my credit card? Many Thanks0 -

yes.....i have the up-to-date Experian Report include my bank and credit card details.0

In view of MBNA's stated reasons for rejection (we've nothing else to go on), your credit report should form the basis of your appeal.thermalboyz wrote: »yes.....i have the up-to-date Experian Report include my bank and credit card details.People who don't know their rights, don't actually have those rights.0 -
Do you mean I need to send my credit report together with the appeal?0

Hi There,
As Moggles suggests your credit report will be the basis of your appeal.
have a read through this thread from Never-In-Doubt

This provides a detailed explanation of the appeals process and the best way to do it.

Yes when you appeal you will need to include a copy of your up-to-date credit report. This will also mean that a human will look at your application and carry out further checks and unrecorded enquiries in order to approve your applicationBank Accounts - Barlcays Premier[/B] - £1000 o/d, HSBC - £200 o/d- First Direct - £500

Just remember they don't have to overturn the decision - getting a credit card from them is not a right
So if they don't feel like over turning it then they don't have to - you have to decide if you think it's worth the hassle. I've appealed loans that were turned down with Egg and was warned that it was extreemly rare that they changed their decisions - After 45 minutes of detailed examination of my financial knowledge and income etc they said they wished everyone knew as much about their own finances and how borrowing etc worked as I did and overturned the decision... But then I DID bore them with minute detail of my income and expenditure
I think they gave me the loan to stop me lecturing them!

This is going to sound a bit patronising but it certainly isn't meant that way thermal_boyz
Have you checked that MBNA have your postcode and address right?
I say this because with JD WIlliams my street name comes up as College st when they search my postcode. My street isn't college st but something quite similar, but it doesn't seem to matter, so when they search my credit file they find nothing, so I need to prove to them that I live where I say I live.
Also many moons ago I had the same problem with flat numbers and the electoral role. I always put that I lived at flat 9/7 but when I searched experian I didn't exist on the electoral role.....why? because the council called my flat 907.
teeny weeny things as little as a 0 in the wrong place or the wrong name of a street or even the wrong postcode (I used to think we were 8nw but we were 8nr) can have a detrimental effect.
Sorry if patronising ......0
