Your case seems strong to me (but I have no experience of this at all) but it seems so obvious.
Fingers crossed - hopefully your solicitor will be on the case and can help you write a strong letter.

Sorry I was replying to post 160 which summed it up perfectly before I realised there was another page to read. Lol.
I also wondering whether Martin can be of use? He may be able to apply pressure - directly or indirectly - especially if he can point out to the politicians the positions some people are finding themselves in through no fault of their own and the lack of joined up support available to them. He may even know a solicitor to help re negotiating the shortfall. If it stops anyone else having to go through what you've been through then that's progress.confused76 wrote: »i like your idea of whether Martin could be of any use....one to think about Angie? x
Thank you so much. Naive of me I know and apologies in advance, but how would I bring it all to Martin's attention??:o

Don't know whether to laugh or cry :(
I turned up at the local council housing services this morning for my appointment with the Mortgage Rescue officer, hoping to get some help with the shortfall liability situation, only to be told, he has had to take the day off due to childcare issues and the only other person who might have been able to help me is on holiday !
I asked why they couldnt have rung me to save me the journey there but they just looked non plussed  I told them I urgently need an appointment with the MR officer as the rescue has reached a critical stage and I need help and don't know who else to turn to. I asked if I could have an appointment tomorrow, and was told it depends on the officers schedule and where he will be working. They said they will ring me today to let me know, I won't hold my breath
I passed on all the paperwork I have prepared, which took hours yesterday to do, all copies, as last time they lost various documents in the early stages of my application.
So again I am in limbo waiting, I am so angry and upset, what is it going to take to get help with this?0 -
oh Angie.....how infuriating....they could have rung you
keep on at them for an appointment, don't stop
can you do something different this afternoon to take your mind off things?

:rotfl::rotfl:I did think about that story in the news a few years back, with the retired farmer that took his muck spreader, drove it to his local council offices and sprayed the front of the buildings
But hey, I might be at the end of my tether but even I couldnt go that far
And thanks for all the kind words everyone x0 -
That's so annoying Angie and very poor service not to ring you. It is thoughtlessness like that which brings you down.
At my council you can't make an appointment - you just have to turn up between 9.00 am and 1.00 pm and wait to be seen.0 -
Angie - have seen several references on the thread about CAG that say that several ex members of CAG have started a new website - legalbeagles? I don't know if somone on there or CAG would be prepared to help you fight your corner?
I have also PM'd Martin on your behalf and asked him if there is anything he can do to help (I hope that's o.k).
