My son has a number 2 on the back and sides and scissors on top long enough for him to spike it up which he loves to do as all his mates are the same even though they are only 6. He also has "tram lines" on one side

That was until recently, when DS went to visit his dad on a very rare occasion (daddies choice not to see DS not mine) and darling father decided to use number 1 all over with his clippers, he looked like a thug and yes its growing out but for couple of months it really made him look harsh, but wont say anything to Daddy cos doesnt want to offend him.

I think if you find a good hairdresser they really can work miracles - although they never seem to do that with mine :rotfl:
  • Our oldest decided to grow his long. He's 5 and it's neat at just above shoulder length. His choice and I think he looks lovely.

Our youngest has gorgeous hair and I was loath to cut it, so it's in a 'Beatles' cut. It was down to his shoulders over the summer but I think it's neater a bit shorter.

both my sons have hair that grows sticking out at odd angles, so even tho they would like to gel it like there mates, unfortunatly for them its a number 3 all over, and it does suit them

my twins are 14 now, and have had the same cut since they were babies, nothing else suits them, as there hair sticks out all over

  • I think kids with hair that doesn't manage to all grow in the same direction look adorable! Especially if they're freckly.

Wait until they're teenagers. My 16yo son came home from college one day with bright blue, purple and deep pink streaks in his mid-length hair! He'd had his hair bleached so it wasn't the wash out type either. He'd went to the hairdressing department of the college and got it done there.

I really didn't want to be seen with him for a long time. :o We used to call him Charlie Drake when he was little because of his hair. The curls grew out though.

I hate the 'Jimmy Osmond' type hairstyle that a lot of boys have now! Complete with chubby faces. It makes them look like Californian kids from 1976 - vile!
Also I hate to see boys with shaved heads too, it makes them look like little thugs!

Well, DS1 went off to Uni with shoulder length hair, got it to waist length, and then had it all shaved off for charity. He let me clipper it a few weeks ago, but it was a new pair of clippers and his hair was just too much for them so he had it longer on top until he could get to the barbers. :rotfl: I've told him if he lets me do it before it gets too long it'll be fine!

DS2 grows it until it gets in his eyes, then lets me clipper it all off. It looks a right mess just before he lets me do it.

DS3's was waist length, and he only tied it back at school if asked several times! Then he got it cut to almost shoulder length, which looked gorgeous. His latest cut was a lot shorter and I don't like it as much. He pays £15 a time for it!

I still have my hair from when it was cut from waist length, plus DS1's, plus DS3's.
Signature removed for peace of mind
