Welcome to the rollercoaster ride !! There are so many variables in this process & so many twists & turns . That is why it is essential to get the advice as you have done, look at the options & in some ways `damage limitation` & then make your own informed decision as to the best course of action for you.
The drawback here is your Mums loan...how long is there left on it?

Just bear in mind that BR is a 1 year process, IVA is 6 - I was 2 years into my IVA when it failed, so went BR, and could have it all over and done with by now. If there is a chance you cannot maintain your IVA payment for the full 6 years, you need to think about it v carefully.
It can fail in the 11th month of the 6th year if you put a foot wrong
That probably doesnt help but didnt want to ignore your dilemma...0
