    I would say you simply cannot get on top of anything till you know what APRs are on your debts? Can you shuffle onto 0% with any of them?
    :beer: Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.
    Theres no dollar sign on piece of mind
    This Ive come to know...
    So if you agree have a drink with me, raise your glasses for a toast :beer:
  • Can't get accepted for 0% so only plan for the moment is overpay as much as I can on them. They are happy to accept overpayments.

    I would say definitely do a car boot sale. Look on this site and find some in your area;

    http://www.carbootjunction.com/

    I also asked around and found out where were the best places to go. You want ones that are busy but not ones that herd in the sellers like sheep (so that you have enough room to show all of your stuff).

    We did two this weekend as we needed to raise some cash urgently. We raised over £260! It was great fun and we are planning to do it again in two weeks. Get some plastic boxes going with all of the stuff you want to sell then make up some signs as we found that people were much happier once they knew how much things were (although they will still haggle).

    I would suggest doing one with either a friend or your mum/dad if only so you can go to the loo or cover the other end of your pitch when you get busy.

    As a guide our stuff was selling as follows;

    Videos; 50p or 3 for £1 We tried them higher to start with and didn't sell any! Video box sets sold for between £2 and £4

    DVDs; sold for between £2.50 and £4

    Books; 10p (small/bad condition) to £1 (for big hard backs) We sold a Harry Potter hardback for £2.50

    CD's; popular albums sold for £1.50 we sold a couple of less popular ones for £1

    Bric a brac; didn't have many ornaments but we sold things like mini chess sets and sets of playing cards from 20p to £1 I sold 2 mens broken watches for £1 each, a games console for £2, a barbie camera for £2, various toys for 20p to £1. On the second day I priced things at 20p, 50p and £1 and we sold LOADS!

    We also sold an xbox with games for £45 within 20 minutes of arriving on the first day!

    It's well worth doing this as I tend to give loads of stuff away these days. Ebay has been rubbish lately, hardly worth selling clothes or smaller items on there after the fees.

    Good luck and sorry my post is so long!

    Mel

  • Hiya!!

    Just thought I'd post an update!!

    Well, the credit card is almost gone, less than £200 left on it!:j Hopefully at least half of that will be gone in June and then the final bit in July. Next plan after that will be to get rid of the balance left on my laptop. That's just over £500 so hopefully it will take just a few months to clear that.:beer: Really getting into the swing of things now and trying to have as many no-spend days as possible.

    Good news is I got a payrise at my part time job!:beer: So I now get a minimum of £44 a week! This week I will have done 4 shifts again so almost £100 there. Only downside is I have got some exams in 2 weeks time which means I need to go to London, no shifts that week then so no pennies :( never mind! Can do more once the exams are over.

    Food shopping has been good, some weeks have been getting it in at less than £15!! Extra 5er has been coming off the credit card.

    I'm really pleased with myself as my debt started with the first figure being 8, now got it to 7 and it won't be long before it will be 6!:j Would never have thought this time last year that I'd be almost credit card and store card free!! Had 6 credit cards and one store card, this one with less than £200 on it is the very last one now!:D

    Day off for study today so should really shoot and get on with it!!!:p

    Hope everyone is well!!! xx

  • Right!! Break from study so thought I'd write in here!!:p

    Have paid £42.60 off my credit card today:j Found this amount as my minimum payment on my credit card had gone down and had some money left over from last month (pay day was yesterday).

    Aim to spend a big fat zero today!!!:D

    Dinner will be an MSE inspired recipe, paprika beef, which is cooking in the slowcooker as I type!! :drool: Will be served with spaghetti and garlic bread. There should be enough left over to freeze so that it will last two meals.

    Staying in tonight with glass of wine, couple of beers (all already in):beer:

    Ciao for now!!:rotfl:
