myself and a male friend have a dream of going to Vegas to visit the casinos and possibly the Grand Canyon - but we don't know where to start - the furthest we've ever been is France - by Ferry
is it best to look at UK sites - or US ones?
has anybody got a company they can reccommend to do it all - or should we book everything seperately
I am 56 and my friend 61 if that makes a difference

Your best bet is to book your flight and accomodation seperately
I would book my flight with virgin atlantic. But if you can.Be very flexible with your dates of travel and you can pick up tickets for just over 600 pound for two people return(i am visiting there in november for a second visit as having been married over there last year)Ah BLESS!
Book your accomodation with any of the agents over there and pay on average of 80 dollars a night(we booked to stay with four different hotels in different areas of the strip so we dont get stuck in the same place for a week
Vegas.com is a good website to look on
Also you can print off vouchers on certain websites(destinationcoupons.com) is a good one as well
I hope i have helped in any way

My friend is also off to Vegas in the next few weeks and wanted to know if cheaper to book grand canyon helicopter rides here before she goes or over there? Any tips?
thanks for the websites, i am sure she will enjoy trawling for some bargins.Ready to Go Go!0 -
Also try lasavegasinsider.com
I think there are links on there to get two for the price of one on some plane rides there(limited time only)
If it is a one off trip better booking a trip by helicopter as they can get closer to the rim)
or try papillon helicopters they are supposed to be reputable
sorry yes you are better to book over the net rather than when you get there0 -

Do it here, IMO. I paid just over £300 for 2 for helicopter to a ranch, then grand Canyon. The prices I saw in vegas were more expensive (some around $100 each). We went with HeliUSA. (here is who we booked with: http://www.all-las-vegas-tours.com/)
If you need any more questions answering, let me know.0 -

Yes, its a good way to guage the price as they list the companies you go with, but often you will find it is cheaper if you then go to those companies web sites and buy direct (eg KLM). Worth looking anyway.0 -
Hi,
I have just returned from a seven month holiday in the USA and here is my advice of Las Vegas.
THERE IS ONLY ONE COMPANY that can actually land on the base of the canyon and that is a company called Maverick. All other helicopter trips land near the rim, this is not the base. You are often mislead into thinking that you will be getting something that you are not.
I don't know whether you are aware but the Canyon is Indian Territory and therefore companies have to pay to go there, thus explaining the reason they only allow one company.
Maverick is a top class company, excellant safety record, state of the art helicopters with all seats facing forward and all with window views.
Yes, they are more expensive but it really depends on what you want from the trip. This company are located just off the strip so you are collected from your hotel and then you have over a 40mins trip in the helicopter to the canyon and back. With most other companies you are driven 40-60mins before boarding the helicopter for a 15mins trip.
They way we justified the cost, was what price to you want to pay to see the canyon? What price would you pay for the helicopter trip.
We took a sunrise trip and landed for a champagne breakfast - fantastic!
We booked our hotel through hotel.com and paid in US$ with our Nationwide Bank Card where they do not attach any fees.
Your choice but have no regrets!
If you need any more info just let me know.
Have a fantastic time!If you get to thinkin' you're a person of some influence, try orderin' someone else's dog around!0 -
