Ah see Sexy's posted...you have been in my thoughts this week. Put flying to the back of your mind until you 'get up to speed' and try to kill two birds as often as poss (batch cook; shop online)....and get some support from your OH too.
Thanks Valli - hope your first week back has been good. OH has been very good to me this week as he's cooked all of the dinners I've planned. He also took my car in to be fixed yesterday so hopefully I won't have trouble starting it any more. I will be making a mini lasagne on Sunday, so will make the rest of the mince into bolognaise sauce for the freezer for a quick meal. We've got fairly easy meals next week - Chilli beanfeast, rice and sour cream is a favourite quick meal that OH can manage, so I can see it becoming a regular feature on my meal-plans during term-time. Also got stir-fry and noodles as that's quick and easy too.Enjoy the little things, for one day you may look back and realize they were the big things.I married Moon 8/4/2011, baby boy born 26/9/2012, Angel Baby Poppy born 8/11/15, Rainbow baby boy born 11/2/20170 -

well when the socks become to stiff to pull on he MIGHT have learned. Sheesh... he's 16 in a couple of weeks. You would think he would have learned by now!
We moved in here in October (11 years ago this year!) and, unbeknownst to me at that time, have a soggy garden and the back stays damp all Autumn/Winter. I let the kids play out (They were 5 and 2-and-a-half then) and the came in absolutely filthy - COVERED from head to toe in MUD. They were stripped naked on the back doorstep and the clothes immediately washed then I dumped THEM in the bath.
I do not mind them, or me, getting mucky and having fun but I don't want half of Derbyshire trailed over my home!Don't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily DickinsonJanice 1964-2016

Morning all
Just got up...managed to have a bit of a lie in. Not easy with two children....
Planning to have a catch up day as we've got a load of things to sort:
Arrange new Life Insurance policy
Travel Insurance for OH's USA trip in October
Order armchairs and bookcase from IKEA
Find out what's happening with our fence - long story, but the bloke removed one panel, told us he'd finish by the end of the week....then promptly disappeared . Not seen him since! Means the back garden is now open to anyone who chooses to come in. Not good.
Front garden needs taming
2 x loads of washing
Ironing.
Not much to do really, but have to fit it around the desires and whims of the baby! (Who is cutting his third tooth...so is a bit grumpy at the moment)
Weather looks to be good though....
Take care all

cyclingyorkie wrote: »BUT she told me of an incident yesterday that made me grit my teeth! The salon is on the ground floor of a building. i'm pretty certain the boss owns the bulding and is landlord to tenants in the upstairs flats....
The first floor flat is reached by a fire escape at the back of the building...and yesterday somebody was struggling up this fire escape with a big heavy suitcase.......
now the boss is 6' and quite broad - i would imagine he's reasonably strong in a blokeish way IYSWIM.....
DD2 on the other hand is 5' 2" max - she can't reach the washing line at work to get the towels off!
So what did he do when this person was struggling with a suitcase yesterday....did he help them himself??????
Naah - he sent DD2 to struggle with this suitcase on a fire escape!:mad::mad:
I'd query this with whoever set up the work experience/her boss, as unless she's been given manual handling training, he shouldn't be asking her to do any lifting/carrying.fedupandskint wrote: »That's some dedication! Well done!!!!!!
Well the new bit of the house (kitchen, hall, bathroom... not as grand as it sounds, as it's a lean-to with a galley kitchen that you walk through to the back door, with a bathroom at the end) is now clean. Walls could do with a proper wash but I've done the worst.
Food cupboard emptied. Nothing is going back in as it's all either out of date or close - if the neighbours don't want it then I'll either take it home or bin it.
Managed to get a short kayak in this morning as the wind wasn't too bad when I got up. Now I need to pack the car up, finish the cleaning and get myself on the road!0 -
In my HHC I:

Please pass on my love to Michelle, glad she's able to give up work and be a SAHM, that's great news.
Hugs Rach, hope your DH and FIL are ok and not too worried
Hugs Princess Jane, its always such a shock to find out news like that. I had a similar thing happen to me, but it wasn’t quite so much money – my DH didn’t tell me all his debts and it’s a horrible feeling when you find out
Crafty, well done on finishing your assignment
I had a bad night, am very tired today and have a massive headache. Not going to do much today. Am going out to dinner at a friend's house tonight to meet her fiance, which will be nice. Hoping if I have a restful day I will feel better by then.
Have a good day everyone xx"Snowflakes are one of nature's most fragile things, but just look what they can do when they stick together."

Morning lovies
Just up Piper was shouting at me she was late for school:rolleyes:.
Things not brilliant here at the moment. Friend of OH died the other day in horrible circumstances which were plastered in the newspapers yesterday and another friend wrote off a 4x4 and caravan yesterday afternoon returning to the yard after been out travelling. He walked away with only cuts and brusies but I just don't know how it is all such a mess.
After all that I'm determined that I'm having a much better day today.
Need to go find my huge list.I'm not a muggle...I'm just magically challenged0 -
Big hugs FFP, that's terrible news. Makes you realise that we have to make the most of every day doesn't it. Thinking of you xx"Snowflakes are one of nature's most fragile things, but just look what they can do when they stick together."
