When my DD1 lost her contract phone, I phoned T-mobile, they blocked the phone immediately, and I gave them a new password, so that if we found the phone, we could unblock it again. HTH.

Thanks hun, I'm still glowing everytime I open a tidy drawer and see the clear floor.
This week's plan is the master bedroom;
clean on top of the wardrobe as it is where xmas present will go
sort out all clothes
sort our all drawers
sort out under the bed
we want to rehome everything in the built-in cupboard so that it can be knocked into DS3 room to create a built-in cupboard off of his tiny room to loose the need for a wardrobe and chest.
Toots I hope you can make some cash on ebay - that is what I'm upto next.
Serena hope you are ok hun and not missing your Mum too much
Fedup big hugs sweetie and I so hope you are wrong xxThe birds of sadness may fly overhead but don't let them nest in your hair0 -

Princess Jane, don’t give up on your dreams, it sounds like you really love him if you want to marry and have children with him. Some questions I’ve thought of – more for you to think about, don’t respond on here if you don’t feel comfortable doing so: Did he tell you about the debts or did you find out another way? What is his view of his debt? Does he want to get out of debt? With help and suggestions from you, would he work hard to get his debts down? Or is he just happy with the way things are and doesn’t see a problem? Even if, he’s not bothered about his debts, would that opinion change if you talk to him and tell him how you feel about it? IMHO, if you both want to get those debts down, and work hard together to do so, you can do it. Much harder if just one person is focusing on doing so and the other one isn’t bothered about it, but might still be possible. My DH doesn’t like being in debt, but isn’t as bothered about it as I am. I’m always going on at him about ways to save money – I’m always telling him to turn the lights off, turn things off standby, and all sorts of other things, and he will do it if I say about it, likewise when he wants to do expensive things, I try to think of a cheaper option and he’s usually quite happy to go with that. Maybe that would work with you? This site is full of tips as you know, I come on here every day to do research to see where we can cut back further and put more money toward our debts. HTH
I knew he owed this person money, but they rang me angry because he hasn't paid them back.
They are a bit of a bully and tried shouting and kicking off at me, but I knock on the door of nastier people for a living, so I just told them where to get off then made a statement to my friend, a solicitor, to be kept safe incase anything happens.
I've kicked off with my fella and he was really sorry. But I don't see why I should contribute towards paying his debt off. I worked my backside off for two years to pay off nearly £10k of my own debt.
I've helped him claim bank charges back and am helping him look into a debt management order, but when he owes someone personally money and there is no written agreement, it's a different story.
I moneysave like mad around the house and work two jobs to keep us afloat - he needs to get out and work his backside off..not that he doesn't already, but he is self-employed, has a lot of overheads and is prone to taking the ostrich approach to debt.DEBT FREE! Sep '08/£9,800 in Oct '06 :beer:0 -

Sorry to hear that. There may be options for you and DH (a Debt Relief Order, for instance). I work as a money adviser for CAB, so feel free to PM me, or go and see your local CAB. Good luck.

Thanks - we're looking into a DRO at the mo. He had to contact them with the value of his car - about £600 as it's a taxi - and is just waiting for an appointment to see someone. However this wouldn't affect the 'new' debt AFAIK as it's between him and a former friend, with no credit agreement.
A DRO would free up more income tho as he has a small credit card - under £200 - and a stonking amount of tax debt.DEBT FREE! Sep '08/£9,800 in Oct '06 :beer:0
