If the A&L account is a current account, you pretty much have got no chance (you need to close all Santander currnet accounts at least 3 months before)

Same goes for your hubby, any currnet account to do with Shabbey, B & B or A&L = big fat no can do.
  • hi all

bit of a simpleton question for you all here
its says that you need to deposit £500 pm into the account
dose this mean that £500 needs to go in the account and stay in there or dose this mean you can draw the money out and that :confused:it just needs to have £500 throughout the month going in/out

    many thanks

U could make another 30.00 by opening a fee free HSBC Current Account via TCB, no switching requirements, in fact I only funded mine opened in April with 20.00. ;)

Can go back out, most of us tend to say leave it in over Midnight to be on safe side. ( Thats not official just what many of us tend to do)
  • Bilbo i opened up online saver and never got a penny from quidco! Hope it tracks for everyone

Tracks first as 0.00 and in my own experience after 6 days tracked again as 20.00.
  • I have been with A&L, and National Giro Bank as it was before A&L took it over, for 40 years. I am in the process of moving my current account from A&L because I am tired of seeing their adverts offering special deals to new customers whilst we loyal customers get a pittance in interest.

I am choosing to go for the Halifax Reward Account which will give me £5.00 every month against the miserable 0.73p interest I earned on my current account last month with A&L.

If u open 3 Halfax reward accounts you wil get 15.00 a month just for transferring 1000.00 a month between the 3 accounts. Some Halifax branches are paying an instant 50.00 for transferring payments and credits into a reward account. I gained such a payment in February and yesterday, in between those occasions Nationwide BS paid me to switch payments back to them. :rotfl:

    oh darn it! thanks sparky

Looks like we'll both go with first diects £100 offer!
will still refer sister and newphew and get somethng from that at least!
  • i'm thinking of switching from nationwide to first direct. has anybody switched to first direct and if yes, what is your experience?
also, i still want to keep my nationwide account to use the debit card abroad. by switching, does it mean that nationwide will close my current account automatically?
    thanks in advance to all!

A& L also do a £25 each referral offer for people who refer someone to them (via an email link, i think) so if you know soeone with an account, get them to refer you for £25 each......from past experiene quidco does not always pay out!

Can you do both offers, or is it a one or the other deal?

That is, if I get a friend to refer me and then switch, will he get £25, while I get £125?
