Anyone with advice on how to mend a fridge?

I have an Electrolux EA-0600-C tabletop fridge which is about 8 years old and has suddenly stopped working. Given that there is no internal light, and it is a 'silent' model, is there any way of telling what is wrong?!
Apparently this is a special 'absorption' type of fridge, so it doesn't work in the conventional way (no compressor).
I have checked that there is electrical continuity across the thermostat, but
having taken off the foil tube and insulation, there is definitely no heat coming from the heater.
Before I chuck it out and get a new one, I was wondering if anyone could offer any advice?
Many thanks,
Al

If you've checked the continuity, you've almost certainly checked the fuse in the plug too - but i'll check anyway;)
Other than that- No idea- other than checking to see if there are any internal fuses on or around the power supplyUnless it is damaged or discontinued - ignore any discount of over 25%0 -
problem with mine as well , its a whirlpool fridge freezer, power is ok, when i switch it on , it comes on for short while , then switches off, i.e. it does not get cold.
any ideas what problem could be?
thanksNice to save.0 -
Thermostats not adjusted correctly or Kaput......... check electrical supply is getting past the thermostat.
I changed one on the outlaws whirlpool in about 15 mins. Quite easy.

If you are up for testing it with the power on... Is there any electrical supply to the heater via the thermostat? if yes you need a new heater. see spares links in message above.I save so I can spend.0 -
Yes, there is power both in and out of the thermostat, but the heater doesn't appear to be working. Unfortunately neither of those spare part sites seem to have my fridge listed. A bit of googling has revealed that Dometic now make Electrolux's range of absorption fridges, so I guess my best bet is to go through their service agents...Nice to save.0

there is normally a thermal relay on the compressor, could be that, they are less than a fiver.0 -

Unless you know how it works and can use a voltmeter, you can't unfortunately. Still, it keeps somebody in a job
