Free upgrade to 10mb - Virgin Media - any catch?

Currently on 2mb broadband with virgin media. Had an email saying i can upgrade to 10mb for free by going to their website etc. It provides a link. Is there a catch? Are they going to lock me in a 12 month contract? My current contract finishes end of this month, thinking of staying on because had no problems with their services. Naturally want to get it cheaper.
Problem with having access to internet is that i get asked by many to solve their problems

no catches, no extended/new contract. Just a potential improvement to speeds. It's a bit of a gimmick really as they want their entry level service to be on a par with other providers (notwithstanding the cable v BT debate)....and then the window licker said to me...0
