Vodaphone/Quidco deal

Hi guys,

I saw yesterday a deal through Quidco where if you take out a 12-month SIM-only deal with Vodaphone you get £100 cashback. It is a £20 per month deal for 600 mins and unlimited texts.

What I wanted to know is how would I get this deal if I am currently on O2 Simplicity ? Am I best giving my 30-day notice to O2 now and then taking out the Vodaphone thing in a month or so time ? I very much want to keep my own number, too.

Is this the way that I should be going about things ??

Thaanks in advice,
A.

  • The way to do it would be to phone o2 and request your pac code. Once you've got that then take out the new vodafone contract. Make sure you enter the mobile number and pac code when you take out the contract, because vodafone wont transfer it otherwise (theres an option to do this when buying online). PAC codes are valid for 30 days after they're issued, and once your number has been transferred (normally takes 3-5 days) your contract with o2 will be cancelled.

I just took out the £15 a month deal with £70 cashback (6oo mins, unltd texts). The £20 deal you mention is actually 900 mins (hot deal uk is listing it incorrectly as 600, I'm guessing that's where you saw it).
  • Yeah, I did think it was 20 quid a month for the 600 mins. That is all I need, so think I will do that one. Don't suppose there's any chance you take out the £20 a month and get the £100 cashback and then downgrade the tariff after 3 or 4 months...?? :D :T
  • Usually you can downgrade after 9 months on longer contracts i think, however when purchasing via a 3rd party like phones4u, carphonewarehouse there maybe others terms and conditions that prevent you downgrading until the full contract has been served. Read the terms+conditions.

There are two ways of constructing a software design: One way is to make it so simple that there are obviously no deficiencies, and the other way is to make it so complicated that there are no obvious deficiencies
