Hi,
Looking for a new broadband and phone deal, the post office or tiscali seem to be coming out cheapest, anyone used the posto ffice internet offers?
Anyone know of any other good offers at the minute, we have no local ISP's!

What do you mean by 'local' ISP's? All ISP's are available on all exchanges, though only some will be available LLU.No free lunch, and no free laptop0

If its anything like their counter service it will be very slow and keep advertising telephone top-ups and travel insurance.0

Moved from Orange to them a month ago. Went with the full Home Phone and Broadband Extra. The broadband and phone service has been excellent but customer support and the admin has been wobbly.
Setup was easy and the Wireless modem they supply is fantastic- signal strength and speed is much better than my livebox was. They use the BT network (infact its really a BT re badged product) and my speed actually went up to 7Mbps out of 8 from 4-5. I have no drop in connections and a constantly high speed. Even in evenings and peak times the speed rarely drops below 6mbps.
The admin side is off a little.. during the switchover I had one or two issues. the first time I ordered it didn't go through the system and was flagged as a duplicate order- nobody bothered to tell me or do anything about it and after hearing nothing for weeks I phoned them. After that was all sorted they never sent a password out after saying I had already made on so I couldn't log in. This was made worse by having to be put on hold for 20-30 min at a time even early in the morning.0 -
Many thanks all, glad to hear of some good news about Post Office.
Re local 'ISP,s', was meaning LLU yes, but the actual ISP's I could use via LLU. Thanks.0 -

If you look at samknows.com and do an exchange search, it will list the ISP's available to you LLU. (right hand column, 'LLU Operator Presence').
LLU's wil be cheaper, but you can use any other ISP you like who offers a national service, they are just reselling the BT Wholesale service, so the prices won't vary much.No free lunch, and no free laptop0 -

Although Post Office BB is now the cheapest phone and broadband service you can get outside LUU. The top pack is £25 inc Unlimited BB, Line rental and Calls etc. (inc free mobile calls at weekends)0 -
well i have been with the post office for nearly 1 year now and i am a field engineer by trade so am not IT illiterate.
firstly since signing i had problems with orders stuck in the system.
took 3 months to sort out. (managed to get connection info so i could hook up my own router )
since being with the post office they have never taken the direct debit from my account, so i have had to constantly keep getting onto them, which then entails cancelling the DD and re setting back up. i have done this now 3 times.
i am 1.8mile from the exchange and i only receive 1mb
in all honesty i have had no problems with the connection, telephone service, customer service.
i have had issues with : billing dept, Admin - tech to provide connection details.
friends whom i have referred have also had problems with the billing dept and payments, but again this seems to be the only complaint.
good service for what they offer, free line rental, free weekend calls to any mobiles.
