    No, the Seller opened the dispute not me. They did so a few days after they had agreed to refund money and said they would arrange a courier to pick up.
    Have no idea why they did that as they had already admitted in an email to me that they had sent the wrong item by mistake.
    The only thing I can think of is that they knew paypal would request I send the item back at my own expense.

    just re read my first post and I didn't really make it clear that the seller started the claim and not me.

    Ah that makes it more interesting. But how can a seller open a dispute; on what grounds?

    Have you tried calling them? I think that would be my next objective and then I would need to decide whether I was dealing with someone reasonable or not. But keep it polite especiallly on the first contact.

    TBH apart from taking them to court there really is not too much you will be able to do at the end of the day.

    If the seller has opened a false INR dispute Paypal/ebay will be having words. Put the transaction number into the dispute. If you've not left Feedback I would. I would then forget it and move on I very much doubt you'll get your return postage back.
