  • My training is in drug research. As someone trained to look for evidence of effect, including biostatistical analysis of patient based results and study data, LDN fills all the requirements for safety and efficacy in ameliorating a large proportion of auto immune disease.

It has been tested at doses 10 times therapeutic dose and found safe. It has been in field use for more than 25 years. There are clinical studies, double blind placebo, in Crohn's Disease and Fibromyalgia documenting efficacy in diseases thought to have auto immune mechanisms.

And most of all off-label prescribing is a standard widespread practice in medicine. Most people realize that for many years double blind placebo studies were not conducted before drugs were released with the incidence of adverse or placebo effects actually being much lower than after the advent of such bar raising requirements.

It has become common knowledge that the changes in FDA regulations requiring high cost studies and fees to obtain IND licenses function as gatekeepers to eliminate fair market competition in the industry. Thanks to excellent investigative journalists there is much documentation of the corruption and fraud involving the FDA to the point that it is impossible to know what studies to believe rendering all studies useless in making informed decisions about treatment. In reality most people go to the internet and ask for patient experience when making their final decisions on treatment choices.

It's important for people to have ready access to all of their treatment choices. I am surprised how often it is mentioned that someone has been searching or ill for a long time before they come across information on LDN. I mention it when ever someone brings up an auto immune disorder in a person or a pet. It is also useful for preventing disease and simple disorders such as allergies.

I encourage everyone to pass this information on. Submitting the information to everyone you know, email lists, alternative health newsletters and to the comments sections of news articles on auto-immune disorders are all effective means of getting the word out to those who could be spared much suffering. People need to know that a safe low cost immune modulating treatment exists and is within their reach.

Watch Dr Chris' viedo, send on the link and sign the UK petition if you are a citizen ~ simple to do with great benefit to many.

Hi I'm backing this campaign with all my being.:T:T:T:T:T

I've recently become chronically ill after a virus, got the usual 'you're depressed' to Post viral fatigue aka M.E. no treatment except a suggestion of 'steroids to get my legs working' again, errr no thanks, to CBT and Graded exercise in 6 months if no better....errrrr no thanks.

Anyway, thankfuly found a specialist who knows his stuff, yes I had to pay but the best £135.00 I have ever spent in my life for blood tests and a proper diagnosis.

Been prescribed Low Dose Naltrexone and an antibiotic protocol for 3 months.

Initially before my diagnosis I used AllicinMax with excellent results, piece here on This Morning re the antibacterial, anti viral properties.

I'm now on the LDN, antibiotic and AllicinMax. It's early days and I have the bacterial die off to contend with but.....I feel a little better every day which can only be a good thing.:D

  • If you google on youtube Dr Chris Steele, MBE talks about Low Dose Naltrexone, LDN you will find the video.

Alternatively visit the LDNNow website - you can find it there, it really is worth watching.

Thank you Triker and I'm glad you too discovered LDN and it is having a positive impact on your health/life.

    Best wishes,

This all sounds incredible, certainly given me some food for thought! Can someone tell me if possible why doctors are reluctant to trial it, are there certain risks or..? I'd very grateful if anyone can let me know, as i find it really hard to read large amounts of writing.xx
  • It's the pharmaceutical companies (not Drs) who will need to pay for research/trials and as there's very little money (profit) to be made out of it, the drug companies seem reluctant to do so. Some Drs are reluctant to prescribe it as it is off label. However there are no risk factors.

Hence the reason for petitioning the Govt to trial this drug and achieve the licences necessary to make this drug available as this lack of a licence is preventing many GPs from having the confidence to prescribe it. We want to change this.

Without political intervention, we will probably never see this trialled which is why we need your help to overcome the apathy which is standing in the way. Signatures on the petition would be greatly appreciated!

    Thank you, i understand nowxx
  • Doctors are very plugged into drug company reps directing their prescribing habits. The docs receive regular rewards from the drug companies for using their products. They may claim worries over off-label status but this does not stop them with many other in-patent drugs.

Prescribing a competing low cost drug would not go over well within this scheme. Only the docs who do not play this game would be immune to these pressures. As patients take more responsibility for their medical decisions and demand more accountability from their doctors medical ethics will improve.

The pharmaceutical industry is big business. It's not a charity or a group of people who have a moral or ethical goal as their priority. Making money is their priority, which in and of itself is not wrong, but when it involves human suffering and quality of life it is very unfortunate and painfully obvious that we have created a monster. The FDA is no longer protecting the public it is serving an industry. At one point it was reported that there were two lobbyists for each member of Congress.

LDN being off-label is fighting an up hill battle to gain ground among the big players in the field. The more people who know about it and tell others about it the easier it will be for doctors to prescribe LDN. It will become harder and harder for LDN to be relegated to the snake oil category and ignored.

Trials would be great but a ground swell of people using LDN and getting results is
also very significant. When there's a loud buzz in public forums and across the news media backed by hundreds of thousands of users it will become apparent that LDN is not going away.

Each of us can talk to everyone we know about LDN, especially doctors and veterinarians. Send the link to this video out, ask others to do the same. Be part of a worthy effort to save lives and quality of life.

Any feedback from Lupus patients -
Also a bit of a BUMP!
    One life.
  • Many people who are taking LDN for Lupus are reporting that it is helping. The best way to find people taking LDN for Lupus would be to post to the main LDN list or the LDN FM list. I know there has been recent discussion of Lupus on both lists.
