Lodgers in my house - Do I need landlord's insurance or not?

Hi,
I am a home owner and currently rent out 2 of the rooms to 2 lodgers who I live with. Is it worth me paying more for landlord's insurance, or will regular home owner's insurance (with a declaration that I have 2 lodgers) suffice?
Cheers

No, but you will need to check with your household insurers that they allow you to take in lodgers. You might have to change your insurance policy. Again, if you take in a 2nd one you might have to change it again. So ch eck how many lodgers they allow you and what their limits are. Insurers are quite archaic when it comes to insuring you and having lodgers.
Also, most will probably remove the "accidental damage cover" from your insurance, so be aware of that and ask. They might also increase your excess.0
