Nusiance Calls - I want to block the number!

                    Hi there
I am receiving nuisance calls and texts from a number. I have replied and asked to stop but this has made it worse!! I do not want to report to the police as the texts aren't threatening, they are simply annoying and will not stop.
I have spoken to Vodafone who have said they cannot block numbers from contacting their users phones, something which I find ridiculous as they must have a system where they can put a bar on numbers.
After hearing that they cant block the number form contacting me, I asked them if they could change my number, and they said they will if i pay £25 which I think is ridiculous as it wouldn't cost them a penny and should be looking out for their customers.
Does anyone have any advice?
Thanks

see if your handset allows number blocking, many do now.
Personally I'd go to the police, its a pet hate of mine when people continually do stuff like this. It will be a wake up call to them, prolly just a warning.0 -
Buy a whistle. The next call, blow it down the handset as loud as you can.
Or sell the number to a cold-calling database company.0 -
Give me the number, I have tons of spare minutes to use up and could do with a laugh. I'd love to give them a taste of their own medicine.
Oh, and you can block numbers on newer handsets.Try to imagine nothing ever existed...0 -
...I got ours through the Consumer Action Group for £100. It will enable you to set screening lists of who can automatically be passed through as normal and who get blocked. You can also buy additional software to enable calls to be recorded (you can also select this option midway through a call as the box buffers every call).
The CAG used to supply the call recording software on SD card for free.
You can get the same full package for about the same price at:

...expensive but if you don't have an answerphone, this is the Rolls-Royce solution with "Star" lists for the people to allow calls from and a "Zapp" list for those you want to block. You can even set it to play a ringing tone to zapped callers so they are unaware they are being blocked. There are a load of other features too but that all geeky stuff and you can find out later.
Hope this is a solution for you, it certainly is for us!

I am having the same problem. Went to the police and reported it but the phone has to be registered to someone before they can do anything about it. Plus if there is no threats made its useless. I contacted O2 and there is nothing they can do either. Its a disgrace that the mobile phone companies that are supplying these sim cards keep NO record of where they send the sims too. If you do decide to contact the police , my advice from experience is keep on at them to do something! Hope this helps in some way0 -
Try the UK phone info website (linky) - put in the number, and that will tell you who issued it: then get in touch with that company to raise a complaint.
I had a similar problem, and found the details of the sender, and issued a complaint through the number issuer as it was against their terms and conditions.0 -
What is the nature of the messages that are being sent to you?0

Go to gumtree's "casual relationships section", post an "interesting" add on their for people to "reply to" using the number that is harassing you, play them at their own game :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:ANURADHA KOIRALA ??? go on throw it in google.0
