Samsung Tocco Lite Failure

I am curious as to what could possibly cause the problem shown in the picture below - earlier tonight I sent a text message and no sooner had it completed sending, the whole phone failed. It is a software problem, in which, when switching the phone on, the Samsung writing is backwards and everything is in black and white.

Users of this phone will know that when switching it on, you get a SIM card image with three or four scrolling dots underneath as the phone reads it. I sort of see this image but there is four of them!

The colour has completely gone, nothing is accessible whatsoever.

Any hints as to what could have caused this? It hasn't been dropped at all and is always in a sturdy case when not in use. No damage at all as I always consciously look after my phone.

Apologies for the size of the image....I can't change it as now my digital camera won't work either. Good night for me it seems! I hope you get the idea though.

Orange offered me this model as a different model replacement this week

Problems with HTC touch HD on contract (Orange Care Insurance), they offered it as I had already 3 handset problems in the last week.

Further to my post, miraculously about 45 minutes after posting, the phone had returned to normal and is still working now.

I am still intrigued as to what caused this....as I was ready to dig the receipt out and take it back on Monday.

Needless to say the first thing I ensured was that all numbers are now on the SIM card.

I recommend that others do this - I always saved them on the phone but never again!
