Somebody pinched my photo

  • Agreed!
I'm curently selling quite a nice dress and my camera skills are pretty awful. No matter how many pictures I took I couldnt get one that made the dress look as good as it is.
After searching the completed listings I found an identical dres and the seller had done beautiful pictures. I dithered for ages about asking, and took the plunge in the end and emailed her ask if she would mind if I put a link on my listing to hers. I explained that I would be putting my own rubbish pictures on but that I hoped buyers would track to her listing and see how nice the dress actually was. I also apologised if she thought I had a brass neck, and promised that if she said 'No', I wouldn't do it.
She emailed me back and not only gave me permission to link to her listing, but sent me the pictures with the watermark thingy removed to use! My dress is now listed with my own awful pictures and one of hers, with an explanation in the listing and a thankyou.

My point is that pinching peoples pictures is wrong, and that if this person had asked perhaps the OP would have said yes anyway.
No, Mr A, that is NOT 'Great news'!!:D

    Wombling totals: Oct = £243.32 - £93.32 over target!
Nov Wombling Tally: £27.36 so far... behind target :(

Still no excuse for stealing your photo. Its copyright theft plain and simple. Report to ebay also contact the seller and inform them of this (place them on your blocked bidders list to avoid any retaliation)

No, I'm not justifying the other seller stealing the photo, merely suggesting what I would consider to be a relatively stress free conclusion.

Apologies if you found my suggestion so proposterous, I'll refrain from posting on any threads you might be planning to read in future.

My sincere apologies also go to cyberbob.

I've not only had photos pinched before now, but also hyper-linked text regarding using NOCHEX/MoneyBookers/BACs, etc. for payments.

It was only when I started receiving NOCHEX payments for this chap's eBay auctions that I found out!

Took a bit of sorting out, but NOCHEX were brilliant and refunded me all the fees incurred.

I was looking for some Uggs once, and the seller had written her username on a piece of A4 paper in black marker and displayed it in the listing. I thought that was a fab idea :T
If you have good thoughts, they'll shine out of your face like sunbeams & you'll always look lovely.

If you have hosted your pic on a site like photobucket, either replace the image with a !!!!!! one or add text, stating Seller ID stole my Image, or not on a photobucket type site report them to ebay.

Could someone show me how to do that please? I have a photobucket account, but not sure how to 'host' the pictures on an ebay auction?

That would be rather too easy to remove!
