Hi everyone, I have had a very busy but Low Spending weekend! I haven't particularly been very active in saving money but have had lots of free fun!

Good luck tomorrow Rachel - hope you're not too nervous! Just remember that everybody else is in the same boat!

    1) We went to Diggerland in Devon yesterday using the family pass that I won last month. It was fab! I thought it would be mainly for T's benefit but we all enjoyed it - especially B who got to drive a car all by herself! A fab free day out.:j
    2) Took a picnic with us.
    3) Went to see a free preview of Julie and Julia this morning with Mum, which is a great film to watch with your Mum / girl friends. So glad I got to see it, as it isn't something I would normally choose to see.
    4) Went to the car booty this afternoon. Bought the perfect bag to match the dress I am wearing to a wedding, from Debenhams and just £2! :j
    5) Also bought The Simpsons movie on DVD for £2. T has just seen this at a friend's house and has a new catchphrase " I like men now!". :o Hopefully he will forget that one soon ....
    6) Our clock radio died the other day and I got a replacement for 40p.:money:
    7) Bought lots of cheap veg in Lidl so we are having crudites and a baked camembert for tea.
    8) SC x 30p for the weekend.

Have a good evening xxL xx

    Busy day today!

    I have;

Cleaned grottiest bits of house (bathroom and kitchen )

Picked damsons from tree in garden (I large basket plus a large mixing bowl)

Picked a huge aubergine from greenhouse that I hadn't noticed till this morning

Picked a few raspberries and frozen them

Done all washing AND ironing  (ironing hardly ever happens here - I have heard on here that it is illegal, and I am very law-abiding :D)

Cooked a beef and veg (or more accurately veg and beef mince) curry and frozen it.

Made paprika pork casserole (can't remember proper name) in SC, and now waiting for it to finish off, will either freeze it or put in fridge for later in the week.

Made yogurt in yogurt maker, will be done by about 8pm

    Cleaned chickens out

Have roast pork belly and roasted veg in oven for supper - will do home grown carrots and runner beans to go with it in a minute

Not NSD, as sent OH out for chicken pellets, a new bolt for the bathroom door to replace broken one, and new lighting tube thingy for garage to replace non-working one.

Made OH pick caterpillars off kale and purple sprouting plants - can't deal with them myself :eek::eek: sorry, I am squeamish about them, though not much else.

Time to collapse in a heap now I think!
  • Evening all!!

Great lists over the weekend everyone! We have had a wonderful weekend away at our £9 travelodge room! Wasn't entirely money saving weekend but DH paid for dinner etc so nothing from my bank!

Not really posting list this evening as have done the usual! Just need to write a cheque and send off extra credit card payment! And some laundry HC! And comps ending tomorrow!

Glad everyone has had very productive weekends!

    xxxxx:beer:
    Thank you to all posters:beer:
  • Hello all
Now I have read your lists I remember I have to clean out chickens and put washing away - pah - sounds like everyone's been very busy. Katie well done on a £9 quid room :) waves to you all jealous of talks of damsons - I love damsons :)

I just bought Muse tickets  DS birthday and xmas treat in Nov - dont ask the cost - I am going to Shetland for 2 extra days work so that will hopefully pay for *some* of it

He will be15 and never been before to a concert - we both love Muse so - not very MSE but will absolutely do MSE things to minimise the damage

I even got cash back through quidco :)

Staggers off not thinking of the cost...............I feel like a sinner:o

I could ask his dad for a contribution:rotfl:then again he doesnt think they require feeding or maintenance of any sort so probably not:rotfl:
Total debt 26/4/18 <£1925 we were getting there.
Total debt as of 28/4/19 £7867.38:eek:
    minus 112.06 = £7755.32:money:

    Today I have:

    - Gone to Blue Reef, 4 of us in total and paid mostly with deal vouchers, the fourth person wasn't meant to come so we had to pay for them.
    - Ate from freezer( Something we rarely do at weekends)
    - Dusted and vacuumed downstairs, upstairs to sort now...
No you're not a vegetarian if you eat any animal or fish, so do not insult genuine veggies by calling yourself one!
