  • Just for information sake my place in Aberdeen was valued 2 weeks ago at slightly more than the 2007 price, that was for a remortgage though (mortgage providers surveyor).
  • A useful graph from the dark side, thanks to McG....

It should be pointed out how overly dependant the Scottish economy is on public spending, this means in the short term there are a LOT of people who have very secure jobs and think they have nothing to fear from the recession.

In the longer term a Tory government and the coming massive public spending cuts mean the impact of the recession up here is being delayed somewhat till after the election.

    McGlashan,

Lovely to see you again, you should post here more often.

The copyright in this material does not belong to you either.

The source data belongs to Registers of Scotland. The graphical illustration belongs to Fubra, owners of hpc.co.uk, as by posting it on hpc.co.uk, you agreed to their terms and conditions, one of which is......

All content posted by you will become the property of housepricecrash.co.uk

Furthermore, under the fair use terms of UK copyright law, by only reposting an excerpt from the thread, and by providing a link to the source material and crediting the author, I believe this to be completely legal.

If it isn't, then at least half the threads on hpc and every other web forum will have to be removed.

Thanks for bringing this to my attention though, it has caused me to do a little research into copyright, and indeed I have now inserted a full link to source to correct my earlier partial information regarding source.

However, if after reading all of this you still wish to deny the readers of this website access to such a useful and educational illustration of how strongly Scotlands markets are performing, simply post here again and I will remove the offending article. Not because I have any obligation to do so, but because I rather enjoyed our little debates, and it would be nice to get you posting over here.

    Hope you are well.

    Hamish

What an interesting username from an hpc-er with an intimate knowledge of the boards history...;)

On the surface, Shaw seems to be an admirable choice, what with being a literary giant, indeed the only man ever to be awarded both a Nobel Prize and an Oscar....

However underneath it all, there was some deeply flawed ideology, as he was also an ardent Socialist and became particularly notorious for espousing extremist views that private ownership of land was a form of theft. He also believed that the state should control all land, and indeed all pay, and that all men should be paid equally, regardless of the worth of individual contribution.

Shaw was an IRA sympathiser, a close friend of IRA leader Michael Collins, and went on to utterly disgrace himself by becoming a public apologist for the mass murder of millions by Stalin in the pogroms, even writing letters to the newspapers of the day claiming these activities were fictional, and calling accusations of such "slander".

All in all, a thoroughly nasty piece of work. But at least now I see the aptness of the username.;)
