Some places are funny about prov licences. ask your bank before you apply if you think your applying for one.
Pop into the bank your thinking about applying to and ask them like agsnu said. They might have a list of other acceptable id that they would take.0 -
The council putting you on the electoral role for the first time in an area will usually write to let you know you're now on there. They did with me (but some councils may not, so you may have to ask them to send a letter proving this)
Also, a letter from your employer (on letterheaded paper) stating your job title, wage and that you work for them and have done for x amount of time may also help, as you can put this with pay slips to prove you work there.** Total debt: £6950.82 ± May NSDs 1/10 **** Fat Bum Shrinking: -7/56lbs **
**SPC 2012 #1498 -£152 and 1499 ***
I do it all because I'm scared.

Passport agency can and will do deeper enquiries into your records before issuing you with a passport, which the banks are unable to do
Also I recently heard about someone who went to open a Barclays ISA, and was told that a UK passport wasn't an acceptable form of ID, as it wasn't on the list!0 -
