Probably wrong but I got the impression he meant more work transfers to places like India
I took it he meant him personally as he said he could work anywhere with a decent internet access.

On your point however I agree and understand that jobs can and have been replaced with positions overseas i.e. call centres.

I also see it myself in my industry where documentation and labour skill sets are being develeped in the likes of Sngola, Nigeria, India, Malaysia etc.

I've also heard of some customer relations jobs returning to the UK as the customers stand up against poor standards dealing with people whose English is not up to scratch and the companies accepting they don't want their reputation to diminish and start losing customers.

I think BT are returning for one, other non-customer facing portable jobs are under real pressure.

BT was the one I was aware of.

I certainly and more direct if I need to sort things out and if I do not believe I am receiving any progress, I ask to speak to someone with more authority.

I certainly don't accept the standard set responses that are laid out for the unfortunate first contact customer liason employees.

Actually I dealt with (what sounded like) a Indian from Sky and he was great, although he did try to sell me extra channels even though the ones I had paid for were not even working (yes he sorted it in the end, but commission for the extra channels) icon7.gif

Hey, I have no real problem with dealing with personel who can provide a good service.
I also work with a predominantly multi-cultural workforce.

I have had many occasions where you could tell they were reading from a sheet and was not listening or understand what I was saying.

Sometimes even they were repeating things from the sheet we had already tried.

Sorry, this is totally off-topic, I know - but am I the only one who feels julieq would benefit from a really good tickle?

She just doesn't seem to enjoy life much.

    Yours, giggling inanely as usual,

Hands up who can be bothered to put together the post consisting of 'I don't do ad hominem attacks', posted by the lovely julie, followed by a list of the 50 or so posts in which she then attacks various hominems (esp mewbie. but there are tasty asides to a number of individuals, including my own good self).

I know I should, but I really can't be arsed to read through any more of her appallingly smug posts.

Anyone volunteer, for the Good of the Board?

Also off topic, but related to carolt's post...

Am I the only one who thinks that carolt is getting a little obsessed with julieq? :happylove

    Yours giggling inanely as unusual,
    Harry.
