Urgent advice needed, car fraudulent company

Hi Can anyone give me advice, I recently looked on a site to lease a car done all checks on the company called Auto dealers direct ltd, they are registard with companies house, anyway sent them a cheque deposit and now we cant get in contact with the company they are not answering emails or phone just doesn't ring. I think we have been ripped of for alot of money. Is there any way we can recover this money from the bank, they are saying no we are not covered. Does anyone have any advice.

I take it you mean you are out of pocket for the initial payment plus the VAT.

When you say fraudulent company, have you made any checks to ensure they are still trading?
When was your cheque sent and cashed?
When did you last have contact with the company and what if any contract/documentation do you have from them?
What were their term/arrangements to provide you with a vehilce?

Thanx for that info, they are a 4 hr drive away from us, apart from driving all the way down there what else can I do.

The cheque was sent 31st july and cashed 6th august.
Last contact wityh the company about 2weeks ago.
Over the phone they said expected delivery would be mid september/ to late septmber.
There acounts say that they are dormant missed that the first time we checked.
We just got a hire agreement which tells us how much we would pay initially which we paid and how much our monthly cost would be.plus vat.
They didn't provide us with a start date cause they had to wait for suppliers to tell them after they ordered it.
When we phone them the line just says this number is temporaralily out of order or off the hook.

Ok, so when did you get the Hire Agreement and what is the name of the company the agrrement is with? Is it a different company?

How much have you actually paid? Is it worth the drive down?

Can someone local on this forum do us a drive past?

On google maps it looks just like a normal house so running from a backroom maybe.

No streetview in that area though.

We piad £1800 and some pence.

The hire agreement isn't signed but the document is on there letter head and it has an agreement no.

I would love someone to local to drive past and see if they exist.

Is Auto dealers direct ltd the only company name on the Hire Agreement or is there another compnay who will supply you with a car?
