I've just had some positive feedback for a book I sold for my son on ebay. It was a 99p start as it didn't look anything special but three or four bidders wanted it so he got around £5 for it in the end.
The postitive feedback mention fast delivery but then says book was a bit too expensive!
As a seller we can't win, I wonder what my expanded seller dashboard will show when it next updates?
I also just got a 4* on Amazon as apparenty the book took a whole 3 days to arrive and he'd paid £2.75 for postage and thought it a bit of a con.

Always amuses me when people do this - incredibly regular when selling clothes. Had someone recently email me saying a dress wasn't worth the £24 paid at auction and they'd like a partial refund of £12 - erm...ok?! The best thing I ever had was selling a Next top, bnwt, with the tagged price clearly stated in the auction, the price went over this and they complained that it would've been cheaper in the shop...well yes, obviously.Baby Boy arrived March 25th 2010 - 17 days late & 8lb 10oz :j0

I had someone open a paypal dispute saying that item was not as described as it was not worth the money they bidded for it (even though it started at a penny). I was tempted to crumble and give in before Paypal refunded them but I decided to fight it and paypal found in my favour!!0

Amazing! I've had this this morning - 8 bidders, winning bidder won a Miniman outfit for £15 (start price 99p) - messages this morning to say that it was too expensive and she wants to return it AND for me to pay her postage costs back to me. :mad:0

It looks like buyers remourse is really kicking in this morning then. I do wish people wouldn't buy things if they can't afford them.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. Can I just ask, would you refund the return postage costs to the buyer listed above? I only have 206 feedback and really don't want to give the daft woman the satisfaction of "winning" this, but am pretty sure she'll leave me a neg, which I'm sure will negatively impact my FB rating.. even though every other fb is glowing and I am 4.9 for "Item as described"0

No. I think a fair agreement if you accept it back that you refund the money minus the postage charge. Personally I wouldn't accept it back as you never forced her to pay the price. If they leave negative then so what? Just respond to it. Your going to get a negative eventually even if its for something thats not your fault so you may as well get it now. Don't let people take advantage of you just because your worried about them leaving bad feedback.0 -
I once sold a CD and has this problem. The auction started at a couple of quid, but eventually sold for more than the RRP. I got a snotty email from the buyer when they eventually realised they'd paid more than Amazon were selling it for. She accused me of trying to rip her off as though it was me who had forced her to place a bid for that amount!0

Thanks! I'll just message and say "tough" then, lol. Or more polite words to that effect!0

I'd find it hard to stay polite! You don't even have to refund her at all, unless you stated you accept returns in your listing. It's not like the item she won is faulty or not as described, she's just decided she doesn't want it!0
