I write lots of replies to things, and then get scared and don't post.

Blimey, I do that all the time too! Make these incredidbly long posts explaining in minute details, reach the end and then think "Oooppss that is a tiny bit personalised, maybe I won't post it"

Or I have a rant and think better of it as I don't like to upset people :rotfl:
We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.

Does this site ban the IP, the user or both? It would be a bit mean to ban an IP address based on the actions of a single household member, who might be an eight year old child.
But it's the parents' responsibility to monitor and oversee the online activities of their little darlings. So it would be justice.

...I clicked on a thread .... got frightened and am now very careful what I click on.
    Yes. There be dragons.
Actually I do spend time on the DFW Board as they have clever ways to make money and now I'm retired I may be grateful for that.
I find most ways people over there to make money are handy little pocket money ideas for people who already "have enough". Certainly not enough to live on full-time and support themselves. That's where I fail, I don't have a fixed income that just turns up every week before I start doing those other things. On a "per hour" basis, none of them would be any good. If your needs are being met and you can earn £5-10 extra per day then that's an extra £150-300 a month, but you can't live on that if it's your only income. I have to find ways that pay me a full-time income, which doesn't include clicking !!!!!! and mystery shopping :)
Otherwise, my choice is as eclectic as Google lets it be. (Am still waiting to find out how to tell when BlackBerries are ripe).
Eat them. If you're not sick by the next day they were OK.

Seriously though, you just look at them and can tell... or that's how I've always done it.

I went for a coastal walk with somebody about 4 years ago, he looked quite horrified when, in the middle of nowhere, I just stopped and started munching blackberries and said "right, that's lunch, there's no pub round here".

Always come back to this Board with my popcorn, though. I'm a great audience!
    We're lovely.
PS - I was banned from Argos last year - does that count?
It does if you were banned for shouting out "CHAV SCUM!!" when it was full. :)

However the mods and abuse team here are power crazy, with the slightest issue such as a 'sockie' deemed to be a life bannable offense
I think the problem has actually come from this board, or from certain members of it.
Constant clicking of the abuse button brings unwelcome attention to our corner of MSE. We become a problem that demands a solution.
So my advice to those who do the reporting, think before you click or you may, very easily, bring down the entire board.

BTW, I notice I am getting loads of thanks, shame they are all from the one person:D

You think parents have time to keep watch on everything their children do. :D
    Should the IP
    a) be banned, if the house has tennants?
    b) still be banned of the house is sold, or gets different tennants?
    c) be banned if the IP is a shared hotspot?

PN: I'm amazed at your talents - having viewed the Max Headroom thread, and everything you've done for him. More, doubtlessly, than anyone could imagine. I love his blog.

I always thought if they were black, they were good (hence waiting for the answer, and yes, I've always tucked into Blackberries in the UK and kumquats in South Africa when available

Another laugh out loud moment to worry my lovely neighbours!

No, it was just a disagreement with the (male) Sales Assistant (probably my age) patronising me because I have grey hair and a shopping trolley (this didn't happen when I was blonde)
. I quietly and calmly said I knew exactly what I was doing thank-you, and not to patronise me. He then shouted at me that it would be better if I didn't go back to Argos - 'that'll be my pleasure' I shouted.

Ooh - just seen someone asking where to buy Union Jack flags, must go and help (I feel like Superwoman!).

    ?

    http://www.pickyourown.org/blackberries.htm .

I've always gone by the principal that when they are black, and they leave annoying purplish stains on your fingers when you pick them, they are ripe.

It will be judge jury and verdict without innocent until proven guilty.
    How is this fair?
Many ISPs such as Virgin and now BT already monitor what we download.
I think the governments plans will prove unworkable. Persuasion not coercion is the key.
I bought an ebook the other day, paid for it and patiently waited for a workable link to download it. Three days and countless emails later, I gave up and d/loaded a pirate copy.

Actually, most people don't know how to use google to find the proxies forums which provide a list of proxy servers. They wouldn't understand that with this information, and the search "how to use a free proxy server", that they could get free tools that would bypass almost all the security available to a forum.

They also don't know how to use a public key encryption system to prevent anyone being able to monitor their communications.

    Shame that.

  • In the defense of someone who has reported posters to Abuse (Dervish and Topov) these needed to be reported for the health of the Board.

For the others that have been ppr'd I'm very glad that their doppelgängers are here (including DD!).

OK - now back to beat my prize-winning Spider Solitaire score.
