Well I've tried 4 London stores now, Luton and Milton keynes and nowhere has it, so looks like I might have to wait until later in the year.

Guy I just spoke to said the sale was pretty much over now anyway :(

Thanks for all the help though, mucho appreciated.

EDIT: I don't want to speak too soon, but some phoning around may have turned one up - I'm going there tomorrow, no way I can get there today, and they have it reserved for me, so fingers crossed!

I managed to pick up one of these yesterday in Beverley (the last one unfortunately). They are indeed very nice. If you have a 15.4" Dell Inspiron 1300 then it will fit in the bag, but only just!

Just like it "only just" fits in the Antler laptop bag from PC World, no room for the power brick or lead :(

Might check these bags out and sell the bag I've already got...

    WAHEY! :T

Went there at lunchtime, and there it was waiting behind the counter with my name on, gave it a quick check over to make sure it was suitable, and bought it there and then, used £1.05 I still had on a gift card from a previous refund, jobs a goodun!

It was the very last one in the shop too!

Many many thanks mcallister1, great spot, and I shall endeavour to post any good deals that I come across - ordinarily I never really go into Smiths, so would not have seen it.

    Cheers

Hope you're lucky enough to get one as the Swiss Gear bags are very well made and at this price a real bargain.

If, however, you don't find one you should at least have a look at the Targus one on this thread: http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=193865 .

Seems on here that not eveyone's a fan of the Targus but I got the same one from Argos a couple of weeks ago at £19.99 for my Inspiron 1300 and am very pleased with it.

I particularly like the fact that there is a removable padded pouch in which you place the lappy which has a fold over velcroed flap so the lappy is totally encased and can't get scratched (it is the perfect size for the Inspiron). You then place this in the rear compartment and strap it in - works very well for me.

Certainly worthy of consideration at least.

EDIT: It's actually the same as one of the one's Dell themselves sell: http://accessories.euro.dell.com/sna/ProductDetail.aspx?sku=A0499580&c=uk&l=en&cs=ukdhs1&category_id=5488&first=true&page=productlisting.aspx

Glad Daniel B finally got his Bag !!!!:rotfl:
I thought I had seen these half price in my local Smiths, while I was looking for my son a new school bag. Called in today, and after a frantic hunt round, found about half a dozen, was tempted to buy one for you and post it on.....but thought I had better check first, and there were still quite a few left.
So, if anyone else is still wanting one, they are still out there.:T

I'm glad some people have got this- I wasn't sure whether to post it or not.:o Daniel b- perseverance paid off.
Mr mcallister1 has used it for the last couple of days. He says that although it seems heavy before you put it on, it is really comfy and the padded back bits which leave spaces for air to get through are really good for the warmer weather. Plus it holds loads as well as a laptop. his only gripe is with the position of the earphone socket as it is on the wrong side for his headphones- but that is a bit technical and some might say picky...:D
