T-Mobile Flext retention/upgrade

My wifes 18 mth, Flext 35 (£30 per month) contract is up for renewal. She uses nothing like the allowance, probably 200 mins per mth would be fine, and texts. She needs a new phone, and wants one with web'n'walk, and possibly GPS.

So, she has been offered £5 pm discount, OR a free LG Arena, LG GT500, Nokia 5800, 6303, 6600i slide, Samsung Classico S7350, Tocco F480, Sony W705, plus various others at a cost..

What do peeps reckon we can get from them by threatening to walk, remembering we want to reduce the tariff (ideas please as she will be using the net more) and have a decent phone.....and which phone do you recommend.

Come to that, is it worth switching, which carrier do we think is best.
