Lloyds TSB PPI advise please

Hello All

long time lurker, but need some advise. I started my claim with Lloyds after realising I was missold, reading the boards I was given the common lies, in order to get the interest rates you will need the PPI and without the PPI it will be difficult to get your claim approved!!

I sent the 1st letter 6th July, got a conformation reply on the 9th July, a follow up letter on the 5th Aug saying it is taking longer than expected to reach a decision but will hopefully have one for me in 4 weeks. $ weeks was up yesterday and today i receive a letter, saying they are still not in a position to give me a final responce, but hope to soon!

What I want to know if should I write to them giving them 2weeks to reach a descision or the claim will be off to the FOS, and at the same time start my claim with the FOS, or hold until they get back to me?

any advice would be welcome

thanks in advance

Simon

Its entirely up to you but if you do go to the FOS now they could stop responding to you anyway as FOS sometimes requests the file quite quickly. Its a decision you have to make in that FOS are taking about 12 to 18 months to look into complaints now and is the extra two weeks going to go on longer. I would perhaps get all the complaints forms downloaded from FOS site and get everything in order as regards the complaint and then by next week send it into them and this would then be about the same time if FOS do request the file as your two weeks extra that they have asked for.

    Good luck
  • Thanks for the reply, that was what was in my head but needed someone else just to back it up.

Do you think I should send a letter to Lloyds with a timesacale or wait for them to get back to me

    thanks again

    Hi Simon, ;)

As marshallka says, it is up to you now from here, but if you want write back to lloyds tsb to give them another opportunity and also send a complaint form to the FOS as well, if lloyds decide to resolve in your favour, you can just let the FOS know, then if lloyds do not, you still already have made a start with the FOS.

With my experience of Lloyds they are not the easiest of them to deal with, good luck to you on this.;)

I would, if it were me, write back to them and jog them along a little. Its up to you of course but that is my opinion. I wish you the best of luck and please post back and let us know how you get on.
