BBC article on unlawful bank charges

There's an article on the Beeb this morning about bank charges and how people are starting to claim them back. It runs through why they're unlawful and talks about the bank charges action group that's helping people to claim.
It says the numbers claiming are pretty small at the moment, but with coverage like this maybe the floodgates are opening....

Yes people, get in their quick! Because for some STUPID reason that totally eludes all logic and sense, both my sister and OH seem uninterested in reclaiming their stolen money, I'm doing it for them and I would recommend y'all get in there and do it for everyone you can ASAP before they do get backlogged. The main thing is to get the ball rolling quickly for them and [strike]bribe[/strike] talk them in to it later
You could always take a cut for actually doing the work, like 50/50For pushing a few bits of standardised paper, that's not bad lol

I will be shutting OH's Barclays OD when they pay up so thats £250 worth of debt we'll be shot of not to mention the 30 pound a year in interest charges. Then anything left will be paid off my Barclaycard. I'm so over Barclays:cool:Barclaycard 3800

I shall be printing and posting mine this afternoon! Had it typed up for ages but felt a little uneasy sending it. I definitely well before the whole of the UK learn about it, and the banks run out of money on all the refunds!! ( I did write a letter for my OH when they took 39.00 out last week and they sent a letter saying they will refuund as a goodwill gesture, so thats given me a bit of incentive too. Mine will be way higher.)0

My OH always emails them on his cahoot when he goes over ( almost weekly) and they always refund straight away. there is a massive section on the bag forum of cahoot claimers. Check it out:beer: Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.
Theres no dollar sign on piece of mind
This Ive come to know...
So if you agree have a drink with me, raise your glasses for a toast :beer:0 -

Get your claim in....The whole issue here is that people think that its their fault. You need to get your head out of whose fault it was and more into the fact that these charges do not represent the work involved for telling me that I am overdrawn.
The banks charge you interest on that money so they are not losing out. They are penalising you and profiting from you.I am a Mortgage AdviserYou should note that this site doesn't check my status as a Mortgage Adviser, so you need to take my word for it.
