Orange signal problem

Hi all! I called Orange for the 4th time yesterday as my signal keeps going dead both indoors and outdoors, I have had this problem for 6 months now and have tried a number of things like switching to 2g, trying different handsets etc. So I have had enough and called them yesterday to see if they could cancel my contract or offer me a discount as I can't use what I am paying for. She asked where abouts the signal went dead...and I said in my home city anywhere I struggle to get a signal, she came back with oh if you had said everywhere maybe we could of helped you but as its in one area we can't...I went onto say that I don't really travel out of town and the city covers a 30 mile radius! she says it needs to be everywhere...but I explained it could be everywhere but I just don't travel about.

She then went to check the masts in my area and the one that serves me has been down for 2 months and is being fixed next week...so call back next week if its no better as we can't do anything until that is fixed....but I explained I have had the problem for 6 months not 2. Anyway I just felt like the conversation was going in circles so agreed I would call back next week. But surely if they can't supply me with the service I am in the right to ask for my contract to be cancelled?

I feel better after the rant now, would be interested in any advice...just feel I am being robbed! :beer: thanks for taking your time to read my post

What city do you live in? It'd be unusual to have poor/no coverage across a whole city, especially with more than one handset

I have crap signal with my orange handset too - have done for about 2 years. I thought the problem would rectify itself with a change of handset and a change of town, but no. So still stuck under contract as I renewed when I was moving. (

The problem with masts is simple.
Everyone wants 100% signal 100% of the time, but whenever the networks apply for a new site the 'not in my backyard' crowd (most of whom don't have a mobile because it's not eco enough) come out and whine about it.
Result, there are not enough masts. . .
