I wondered if they allowed for higher tier bracket additions/changes during 12mth fix bonus account. cash isa 2% version
They may have it worded so but then they might not.
As they have made mistake in past/previous rates on line at pres. But guess that to be typo
I jumped into the 2% bonus rate on 6th April this year and their systems took care of this at that time

    Hi Apt,post 11
Thanks for reply as it confirms rates,I will have to move come november so will look now/ october for the best rate going as Isa is 10years old now.

As for Nat West "Cash Isa" they have definatly come up with a way of lowering/getting around Fixed Bonuses on savings accounts.
I.e. lowering your fixed bonus rate by adding a another tier level.

The new varible element of account is the tier level you are in.
They just add a higher tier level during 12mth fix and down a level you go and your interest too.

This is just going round forum a bit now with E-isa etc.I have no Idea how to counter it?

With all the complexity of the varibles in a savings ac,even now "fixed accounts" are not fixed in effect, its very hard to keep up for anyone even good mse, ers.

It seems these days ,the goal posts move quicker/more often and knowing the correct/effective route too challange/complain is "paramount in banking".
Yorkshire boy is very good at this and others of course but it seems very important how you go about it, that is key for us mortals.
As they are experts at bogging you down, if you are not practiced.Ie it takes so long going round in circles, learning the ropes etc

I could not do it without the help on here, as not very organised.
I also find if I don,t have more wins than I lose with the incentives etc It will be time to back off on all this rate/incentive stuff.

From now on Tiered rate accounts are a varible account not fixed at all.Something else to watch out for as you never can win them all.
  • Typical, they literally changed the e-ISA rate whilst I was making my last posting! I have dropped 0.25% or so to 3.25%, being in the middle tier and having opened the account before the initial cut-off. This still beats any of the other instant access or notice or 1 year fixed options, which I could transfer to. Longer term fixed deals are higher, but too much speculation about rate rises next year for my liking, which would leave the customer locked into an uncompetetive rate.

Fortunately my other ISA, a Cash ISA Plus, was not affected by the new tiers.
