I've never had sky but the apartment i'm moving into has a communal dish, there is a sky socket in the living room with 4 outlets, but none in the bedroom, any advice to a clueless man how i get sky in the bedroom as well.
Also if i plugged a sky box straight into the socket would i get a reception,eg normal tv.

If the outlets are connected to the dish are working then connecting a Sky box, without a card, you should receive a fair number of channels, not sure if that is what you mean by "normal TV"0

Sorry,by normal channels i meant bbc1/2 and itv/ch4 and ch5.So i can buy a sky box and just plug it in?Which channels would i get please.0

If the outlets work then buying a cheap Sky box from ebay, or similar, with no card will get you all the BBC channels, all the ITV ones, CH5 - although you do have to add that manually and host of others that are supremely un-watchable.
If you do a search I am sure there are sites that list all the channels you will get0
