Received fake item, how to proceed?

Hello

Bought a dress from a lovely seller, her other items looked fine - clearing out clothing rather than a business seller. The dress arrived today and I know for certain it's a fake. Anyway, am I eligible for a refund of postage too or just the end price? I've emailed her the details but I'm not sure how to proceed?

It shouldn't be sent back though I know nowhere near to get it verified as a fake. I only know as I collect the designer and have come across these fakes once or twice before. The auction had no images of the label, I suppose I should have asked but honestly didn't think one of these fakes would have found its way to Ireland, via the US. Hmmm.

Thanks

If you put a claim through paypal and claim it was a fake. As long as you can prove this to them you will not be asked to return the item.

That's the thing though, how can I prove it other than provide paypoo with comparative photos between the fake and one of my legit pieces of clothing which shows the differences?

You normally need to get prrof on headed paper from the manufacturer or supplier. I would wait to hear from the seller as you never know she may not know herself and just offer a refund
  • Hi, i sold a fake item on e-bay a few weeks age (a pair of shoes), i had no idea the items were fake, the buyer was really nice and just asked for a refund for the items (no postage costs), i refunded them for postage 1 way and the items, they were happy with this.

Thanks, I'll email her the photos showing the labels in comparison as it's quite clear the dress is a fake. I hope she'll just refund however I'll email them to the manufacturer bow just in case they might send a pdf.I'll not start anything with paypoo for a bit.

I know mistakes are easy to make BUT...I'll be pretty peeved if I don't get the postage back as well, particularly as it was 9 euros and cost was a mere fraction. Why should I have to pay to receive a fake?
  • i have actually got a similar situation, didnt want to post another new thread. i bought a diesel top and has come with just plain white tags on the top saying 100% cotton aith no other tags to say its diesel apart from the logo on the front. they did say in their lising they bought it from a european country so again maybe they dont know themselves if its fake.

ive never been in this situation and dont want to go accusing. any advice?

They know fine well it's a fake, ask them for a refund.
  • The problem is that it's up to the buyer to prove it's fake.

Without the proof sellers don't have to refund.
